Dodgey Posted January 9, 2013 Posted January 9, 2013 EDIT: Scratch that - I've found them on the Westfield site - doh!. One question though anyone know the dimensions of either the 185 or the 205 wings? So I can check I really do have the 185 wings. I've measured my wings width wise and they are (looking straight down) - 225 mm from side to side. The inner raised bit (again from the top) is 170mm wide The next rim/lip is 190mm wide The circumference from one lip to the other is 300mm (bent a tape measure round the contour. Hi - I'm looking for a pair of these: http://forum.wscc.co.uk/forum/index.php/topic/98048-sold-carbon-look-cycle-wings-indicators-brake-lines-wide-wishbones/ I can't find them online - any idea where to look? Dodgey Posted January 10, 2013 Author Posted January 10, 2013 Thanks guys - I managed today to squeeze my new wheels into the existing wings. No room for error!! What I did was (after spending over an hour removing the old nuts and bolts which had corroded on): Put 3 repair washers between the bottom bracket and the brake mount - this pushes the top arms out a fair bit. Banged and pushed the upper thinner arms until I got them about 5mm from the tyres, then straightened the top horizontal parts again. Had to repeat this a few times. Then on the "top" front most horizontal bar I ran a strip of 3M black foam tape (same stuff you use to line the bonnet joints) accross it, and punched holes through it to the existing holes. Did the same for the lower bars, but used 2 strips on top of each other. Refitted the wing and it was almost perfect with the new padded spacing. Both wings just needed 3 small washers extra under the lower arm on the outer bolt to make them perfect. Got clearance now! Knackered! - going to cover each nut under the arches with silicon sealant tomorrow so next time I want them off it won't be a total mare. Is that the right approach? Quote
