Many thanks The "knock the hole in the end of the garage " is excellent except that the end borders the field so can't go that way. I decided to extend the garage forward 6 foot to give plenty of space and to widen the garage door from 6'10" opening to 8 foot. Will make it easier to get the VW in/out as there is only about 1.5 inches either side of the wing mirrors. Thanks again for the input, but I think its sorted now !
