Rory's Dad Posted December 27, 2012 Posted December 27, 2012 Great programme. I thought Patrick Stewart was going to be a bit too actooorish but, as has been said above, the story got the better of the actor and the true feelings came out. Rory's Dad Quote
s2rrr Posted December 28, 2012 Posted December 28, 2012 Seconded all the positive comments, really was a good documentary, looking forward to the rest. I remember the time of his crash and it was a national event, sadly legends like him don't get all the recognition they deserve. Bob Quote
Captain Colonial Posted December 28, 2012 Posted December 28, 2012 Just marvellous. Made me well up a bit too, imagining being in Patrick's shoes doing that. What the BBC does best. Quote
Dave Eastwood (Gadgetman) - Club Chairman Posted December 28, 2012 Posted December 28, 2012 A superb documentary, so often these types are so dry and dusty to watch, but this was lifted by Patrick Stuarts real enthusiasm and by the great chemistry between him and Sir Stirling. Quote
Man On The Clapham Omnibus Posted December 28, 2012 Posted December 28, 2012 More Aintree We can always rely on Bernie to find the gems from the archive - superbly delivered by Damon bearing in mind that his dad and Jim Clark were rivals; friendly rivals but rivals nonetheless. It all seemed far more gentlemanly then. I love the Lotus 25, do you think I could get one on Fleabay? Quote
cidersurfer Posted December 28, 2012 Posted December 28, 2012 Didn't he fall down the lift shaft the other year and smash his legs up? I was wondering how he managed it. Sleep walking perhaps?Err no. Pit stop error...Pinched from his website... The accident occurred as a consequence of falling down three floors in the lift shaft at his home. The door to the lift, that should have remained locked if the lift was not on the floor that it was called from, opened in error. He stepped into the narrow open shaft in the expectation that the lift would be present for him to walk into, as it should have been. Quote
