Terry Everall Posted December 23, 2012 Posted December 23, 2012 Is it me? What the hell happened? Do I have to now wait for series 3 Quote
Terry Everall Posted December 24, 2012 Author Posted December 24, 2012 Was it supposed to have an end? Like who blew up the CIA building if it wasnt Brodie Quote
StanS Posted December 24, 2012 Posted December 24, 2012 I learnt my lesson with Lost and Heroes - you wait for the painfully slow story to come to some sort of end only to find it doesn't - another painfully slow series starts in a few months. So I decided not to waste the hundreds of hours starting to watch these almost stagnent pot boilers ! Quote
carbon-nv Posted December 24, 2012 Posted December 24, 2012 I was left fuming when the first series ended, expecting a conclusion only to find it was 'to be continued'. Although it looks set up for a thrid series, I suspect that last night was the end and intentionally left hanging, as I'm not certain just how the writers could round it off conclusively. I think we're just left to think that 'the war goes on' and there are no winners... Quote
Dodgey Posted December 24, 2012 Posted December 24, 2012 My g/f said, "oh here we go, next series will be her trying to clear Brody's name" .......... and sure enough - 10 minutes later...... What foxed me last night, on an otherwise excellent series, was - why did they feel the need to rush/bodge her totally unbelievable relationship with Brody all of a sudden - I've never seen less chemistry between two actors - I flinched a lot - How on earth does that woman think? -" I don't trust brody. I hate him." 10 minutes later." I love him and will give up the most amazing career for him". 10 minute later. "I'm pointing a gun at him because now I don't trust him again.". 10 minute later, "I love him and trust him - lets go!", 10 minute later, "nope, you go alone, I'm not sure". goodness me WOMAN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Norman Verona Posted December 24, 2012 Posted December 24, 2012 The answer is to not watch American dross. Quote
Dodgey Posted December 24, 2012 Posted December 24, 2012 ...but then you wouldn't get to see Battlestar Galactica ! Quote
SootySport Posted December 24, 2012 Posted December 24, 2012 I have no idea but I've just finished watching Series 1. Quote
M444TTB Posted December 24, 2012 Posted December 24, 2012 The number one rule is leave them wanting more. Job done. As for why is Carrie mental? Well because she is mental! You lot must have hated the Sopranos! Slow burn and the most ambiguous ending ever. Quote
Dodgey Posted December 24, 2012 Posted December 24, 2012 :-) The Sopranos was never about the end, rather the journey. Quote
jacko9370 Posted January 2, 2013 Posted January 2, 2013 Sure I read somewhere that she's signed up for 7 seasons of homeland Quote
Dave Eastwood (Gadgetman) - Club Chairman Posted January 2, 2013 Posted January 2, 2013 Sure I read somewhere that she's signed up for 7 seasons of homeland Thats a common enough practice in the US, but in reality their commissioning system means there's no guarantee of even reaching the end of a series run without it being cancelled if the ratings aren't what the broadcaster deems acceptable. Many, many series, even those with a lot of effects/postproduction work needed aren't actually made that far ahead of the broadcast date. It's certainly the norm now, for the "back half" of a season to be being made at the same time the earlier episodes are going out. Some series have even shorter gaps between production and broadcast. You can actually see the effect sometimes, as show runners react to the audiences reception of the broadcast episodes, tweaking the writing and occasionally even making huge cast/plot line changes. Annoyingly though, if you've got into a series that isn't deemed popular enough to survive, it also means the TV companies can, and often do, cancel their orders for the later episodes. Others make it to the cliffhanger season finale, only to find that the series doesn't get picked up again come renewal time. It's a ruthless industry in many respects. Quote
SootySport Posted January 2, 2013 Posted January 2, 2013 How long will it be before Homeland ends up on Sky? as other dramas have done in the past. 24 and Lost are two examples which grab your interest on terrestrial TV only to find they end up on Pay TV. Just got around to watching the the first 2 episodes of Ser2. on the internet, found a great streaming channel and in HD. Quote
