Man On The Clapham Omnibus Posted December 28, 2012 Posted December 28, 2012 Non-fiction most recently read 'Dancing with Strangers' by Inga Clendinnen, about the first contact with the Australian aboriginals by the neo-colonials. How they even made sense of each other is beyond me; Martians and Frenchmen have more in common. Fiction: Ray Bradbury's 'Martian Chronicles' or 'Something Wicked This Way Comes'; and I agree with the Neville Shute choice too. The 'Wallander' books by Henning Mankell or pretty good. Impossible to choose one single tome. Nothing too heavy... Quote
Doug Dastardly Posted March 4, 2013 Posted March 4, 2013 Just finished 'touch wood'. Hell of a life that man lived I probably enjoyed his war years even more than his racing. Probably only the immediate post war generation of drivers would put up with that level of danger, and death and keep racing. Thanks for the recommendations. Quote
