Avatars service

Hi all,

 

Since the advent of the new boardroom software, the Avatars service has been only partially operational, in that it would serve existing images, but would not allow users to log in and upload further images. The number of images served has gradually been tailing off over the last year, and I doubt that the service continuing in the same fashion for much longer is particularly worthwhile.

 

As a result, I propose to terminate the service on 1st March 2013. From that date, images stored on the avatars service will no longer be served to the boardroom. On 1st April 2013, I will remove the domain from my server, and any content stored there will be lost.

 

If anyone has any content on the avatars service that they would like a copy of, then please contact me by email at andy@gentlyhosting.co.uk including the image ID and the account name that owned it. I will then endeavour to retrieve the image and mail it back to the user concerned. Do not PM me, as I am no longer a WSCC Member and as such will be unable to receive PMs here soon.

 

Thanks to everyone who has used the service and found it useful since its inception back in 2004.
