robo1968 Posted December 6, 2012 Posted December 6, 2012 Velcro 50mm wide does the trick - same width as an iphone and keeps it on a dash just fine. Like this:- http://item.mobileweb.ebay.co.uk/viewitem?itemId=200763338877&index=3&nav=SEARCH&nid=31559521611 Quote

I second that on the 'Lifeproof' case. I've got one too and ita excellent. I dropped my previous iPhone down the loo! So now it's waterproof and therefore I don't mind if it rains whilst out in the Westfield. Quote
robo1968 Posted December 6, 2012 Posted December 6, 2012 My purpose of having my iPhone with me in the Westfield is not to take calls, or see missed calls etc. it's because of the excellent apps that are available - like sat nav, speed cameras, gps speed display and even track day gps apps that can use the iPhone's camera to video with overlays of track data, speed, g forces, position etc. Check out Harry's lap timer pro :- http://www.gps-laptimer.de/Home.html These apps can be as good as stand alone gps devices and a lot cheaper. I recently sold my garmin stand alone sat nav as the version on my phone was more convenient and faster to find satellites etc. Quote
KugaWestie Posted December 6, 2012 Author Posted December 6, 2012 2 large elastic band around the head, phone inside the bands pressed to ear - Voila hands free car phone holder. Excellent Norm, but some major flaws there, you cannot see who is ringing you and also cannot press any buttons to answer Quote
KugaWestie Posted December 6, 2012 Author Posted December 6, 2012 I use one of the gel mats sitting on my tunnel top and the phone doesn't move at all. Like you, I was dubious about them til I tried one, but they are amazingly effective and a simple cheap solution Thanks Dean How have you fixed the mat to the tunnel carpet? Quote
deanoecosse Posted December 6, 2012 Posted December 6, 2012 Thanks Dean How have you fixed the mat to the tunnel carpet? Nope, it just sits on top of the carpet, it really is such a stupidly simple but effective gadget. You could even leave a few £ coins on it and they wouldn't slide off Quote
Luapno Posted December 7, 2012 Posted December 7, 2012 Have a look at RAM mounts they do cradles for most phone and various methods of attaching them to the car. I have the Iphone 5 cradle and a suction mount by them, absolutely rock solid Quote
Cleggy the Spyder Man Posted December 7, 2012 Posted December 7, 2012 Best you expand on this one no thanks Quote
KugaWestie Posted December 7, 2012 Author Posted December 7, 2012 Thanks for all the input guys I think I am going to try a rubber mat jobby - Dean - got a link for the one you have? Quote
