housebuilder Posted December 6, 2012 Author Posted December 6, 2012 classic is what i thought for the same reason Napolina. You are right the build does de mistify the whole mechanical side of things. not sure it's a classic but i had a mk4 xr3i in 1987 when I was only 17 (it was cool then to drive a throaty 95bhp honest!) and would love to restore one to original mint condtion as the next project. let us know how the test went Quote
Andy Rob Posted December 6, 2012 Posted December 6, 2012 I will mate. Was out tonight doing more tinkering and fitting that odd looking tea tray for the back registration to sit in. Just need to get the IVA over now!! Oh I remember the XR3i well. A mate had a white one, which we travelled about in at silly speeds and music volume at an unhealthy level of decibels! Would go for a BMW 2002 myself, well I can dream can't I?! Quote
housebuilder Posted December 6, 2012 Author Posted December 6, 2012 haven't got to the tea tray thing yet. how did you fix it on the body? Quote
Andy Rob Posted December 6, 2012 Posted December 6, 2012 Mine came with its own bolts, spacers, nuts and washers. Simple enough, just need to think about where you drill the holes in the body work, so they will be totally covered and can be used when you actually fit your real plate. Looks ridiculous though!!
