The dam at Lake Vyrnwy. The Artisan Cafe provide excellent sausage butties and a good cup of tea. Ice on the roads and a Land Rover lock-up added to the interest. As did Bob's steaming V8. Well, at least it kept our hands warm.

Didn't want to have doors on my car but not being able to breath above 35mph changed my mind.

So I bought a pair of side screens, they did the trick but I felt a bit enclosed, even in the Westie.

So I bought a pair of wind deflectors. Great in the summer but not when it's cold, windy, raining etc etc.

So if it needs to be a car for all seasons then all three should be considered. Mind you, not having a windscreen reduces the options.

Then there's rain.

I've considered a half hood and would like to hear from anyone who has one. I don't fancy a full hood, although I've never been in a Westie with a full hood, and I would have to replace my roll hoop to fit one. My fishing umbrella is ok when stationary, and I know that Jeffro fitted a bracket to his car so that he could drive with the umbrella in place but I'm not sure how that would be received by the constabulary.

The only other option is buying an MX5.

I have to say i was quite warm in my Westie, wearing my thermals, gloves, helemt and thick padded coat. forgot to mention doors and heater on.

Looking into getting some colour matched half doors, just waiting for the colour sample chip to arrive, these will also be useful when Jeff is leading as they will no doubt reduce the amount of cow s**t on my right arm
