Why So Many Irish Race/sprint Cars For Sale

I am busy looking for a sprint/hillclimb and occasional trackday Westfield and have noticed in the various websites for the more specialist cars there is a very high percentage of race/sprint Westfields for sale from Northern Ireland - why would that be?

On one level, Ireland's suffering, I can't imagine the woes in the south don't have a bad effect on the north.

On another, it's the off season, so now's the time to change move up a class, down a class etc.

True, but then we seemed to have a raft of cars on the market two years ago, and to a lesser degree last year. (Not looked this year)

Pity..... it is a bit more of a commitment trotting off to Ireland to look at a car which may end up being 'less than advertised'

I know, Andy was interested in the Duratec engined car over in NI, just such a commitment to "nip over".

It does seem between that and the rallying etc to be a very active scene over there though, so I wonder if that perhaps magnify's any changes?

Don't forget at the moment they bought in Euro's at approx 1 to 1 the £ is now well in there favour to give them more Euro's and makes their cars look cheap :d :d

I'm selling mine as the class I'm competing in next year is a bike engine class. Not sure about the others!

You're not allowed to enter that in a6...I'll be even further back down the runnings then ;)

I know that a few years ago Irish car sales were full of nicked cars that had been re-registered as Irish and no pre reg trace was possible. I hope this has been made impossible with modern computer systems and stuff, I am talking late 80's-early 90's when most my evenings were spent at car auctions... What a childhood I had!
