Man On The Clapham Omnibus
Not mine, I hasten to add, but a Sylva Striker (I think) at Keevil yesterday. I didn't see what happened as it was on the far side of the circuit, but it looked as if he span off onto the grass. When it was towed back you could see that the top wishbone was buckled - see below. The wishbone is made as a clamshell assembly of two complementary parts welded together. I could guess as to the comparative strength vs. conventional designs like ours, but this one certainly failed on the hapless owner. Look just below the headlight. Cleggy the Spyder Man
more likely bent on impact I would have thought ?
Man On The Clapham Omnibus
more likely bent on impact I would have thought ? I don't believe any other car was involved, and the way it's bent suggests the side of the car on which the damage has occurred is trailing in a sideways drag across rough grass. There was a lot of grassy debris in the rear diffuser, and the nose cone is broken too. Had it been on the leading side the lower wishbone would have had the compressive force. It is very unlikely to have gone spontaneously, surely? A bit of a puzzle...
Cleggy the Spyder Man
a very harsh impact of a curb maybe or car dug in whilst on the grass ?? or it could have suffered previous damage - I have seen dents in those inboard rocker top arms due to careless maintenance tis all speculation :-)
