neo
Hi guys im possibly contemplating selling the Westfield now it’s finished but I’m not convinced i want too if you know what i mean, ok a quick rundown of what it is and what’s been done etc., as i don’t really know what i want for it or how to value it either... Ok here goes..... Westfield Seiw registered in 1997 on Q registration, i bought the car over a year and a half ago with the intention of building a proper balls out track car with big power but after starting and getting into the project i decided to change my plan and make a proper nice road car with the track oriented theme for occasional sprints and track days as well as being usable on the road... BUT BE AWARE THIS IS NO NORMAL WESTFIED ETHIER IT TAKES BIG COHENESS TO DRIVE THIS CAR SO IF YOU HAVE THEM ITS FOR YOU YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED IM NOT.. Ok spec wise... Chassis 1997 Seiw chassis modified and strengthened in all the right places Fully blasted and powder coated after above work carried out. Rose jointed rear suspension arms top and bottom Wide track front suspension arms All new joints and bearings all round Hi spec 4 pot front brakes with Ferodo track spec pads all new Rear brakes std sierra rear calipers with yellow stuff pads all new Diff low miles sierra cosworth LSD 3.62:1 All new rear drive shafts and CV joints boots etc etc Suspension spax adjustable all round Rear anti roll bar fitted with rose jointed drop links Front in board anti roll bar kit with rose jointed drop links Image 3 piece split rims with nearly new 205.50.15 yokohamma A048r rubber Steering standard Westfield with quick rack Bodywork 2007 Fk body with rear detachable arches with new V8 bonnet Brand new mick made carbon dash panel and all new switches and wiring loom Stack dash (speak for themselves these boys) Removable steering wheel and boss kit Gel battery and fuses inside car under the dash RUNNING GEAR Engine.... SIERRA COSWORTH 205 block with 4x4 ported and polished head fully rebuilt by cosworth specialist and replacement of following parts.. New wiesco pocketed race pistons and rings Race spec main and big end bearings Group A three layer cometic head gasket BD14 inlet cam and std exhaust cam Race spec ported and polished head skimmed and tested New high pressure oil pump Big winged aluminum flat sump with modded pick up pipe New water pump and all sensors GT3076R roller bearing turbo approx 550bhp 4x4 cosworth exhaust manifold Stainless steel turbo down pipe SBD carbon race silencer 2wd modified inlet manifold matched to head Siemens 83lbs injectors 3 bar map sensor Engine has had all new gaskets and sensors, plugs leads etc. etc. through out Cooling system Radtec aluminum race radiator Turbo cooling charge cooled radtec radiator and combined oil cooler radiator cooled with Focus RS charge cooler pump Gearbox very low mileage T5 cosworth gearbox with modded short lever. Paddle 6 plate Alcon clutch kit Hydraulic clutch conversion for super light and easy operation (lovely clutch feel) Fuel system 404 motorsport cosworth fuel pump Facet redtop lift pump for swirl pot 1.5 lt swirl pot Westfield fuel injection race tank All fuel lines are braided goodridge hoses and fittings throughout all new other that front to rear hard lines. All new cables and clips throughout, all new water and boost hoses throughout. Shortened and strengthened cosworth propshaft and uj's Interior Westfield race one piece seats Brand new 5 point 3" TRS harnesses Stack dash Apexi avcr electronic boost controller for adjustable boost and programming All new lighting and switches inside and out with 5" small lights To be honest guys i can go on and on and on, the Westfield has undergone basically a full restoration with a no cost build in mind in a nut shell it’s a new car and can be seen that it is.. The diff and gearbox have done less that 30k miles out of a concourse car, the engine is race spec and fully rebuilt £5000 plus turbo at £1500 The interior is 98% all new as is the electrical system and all of the components Suspension and steering and chassis and body are all as new if not been replaced etc.. The Westfield is as good as they come and i have not kept all of the receipts but most of them and i have £16,000 in bills alone, there is no labour charges in any of that at all... The Westfield cosworth has only completed 250 miles since its full rebuild and back on the road and when i say its quick it’s an understatement its running low boost at the moment of 1.1 bar should be running nearer 2.6 bar derestricted so for the time being its only producing 390bhp but engine specs will have it nearer 550bhp once fully ran in, it’s been on the rolling road run for a light fuel run that’s how i know.... so as it stands it’s had a full years’ worth of my time a labour about 2000 hours, all of my mates whom i race and work with have assisted where they can with specialist parts at mates rates, and ive spent about £17,000 getting it to where it is now plus labour and price of donor car etc. etc... So guys where would you value a basically brand new road going Westfield with 550bhp with mot till June 2013 and tax till Dec 2012 If i don’t sell it i don’t mind to be honest it’s an adrenaline rush and addictive drive........ Check the pictures guys and give me an idea where realistically it’s valued please...........

Greenstreak-Andy D
Epic power will take some controlling!! I would give a reason why you want to sell when you have only just completed the project. Agree it is difficult to value, you mention your costs, but ultimately it's down to what figure you would let her go. Only you can make that call. Would be good to see an under bonnet photo too! User0083
Outstanding piece of kit. No price mentioned... All I could offer would be my wife. She's OCD with cleaning and not a bad cook. If I had the founds to make a real offer I would. Mine has 154bhp and can be a handful! Really curious to what it feels like to drive.
leighc
All I can do is add to the list of superlatives, it really does look a fantastic car. I would be vary wary about asking people to value cars over the internet, you could get people throwing around all sorts of uncalculated numbers which buyers remember. For that reason, if people do want to give a number, do it on a PM, not on here.
kevip6
Didn't someone (polly??) sell a crazy powered Westy recently-ish? Might be worth asking him how much he got and where he sold it in the end?
S2T
I guess the potential market for this type of vehicle is rather limited. It also sounds like you are not convinced you really want to sell it. So I suspect you are expecting an offer you cannot refuse type of scenario. As a potential buyer the boot is also on the other foot ie how does one value it as there are few direct comparable vehicles to use as a guide Although you have said you have strengthened the chassis etc for me that would be the biggest question, can the reworking cope with the power
peterg
BIG COHENESS there's a joke in there somewhere but I don't want to offend Norman or the Cohen Brothers
XTR2Turbo
So guys where would you value a basically brand new road going Westfield with 550bhp with mot till June 2013 and tax till Dec 2012 If i don’t sell it i don’t mind to be honest it’s an adrenaline rush and addictive drive........ Check the pictures guys and give me an idea where realistically it’s valued please........... Really hard to say. Even though it has cost a huge amount of time and money it is still a very modified 15 year old Westfield. As a reference very high spec 2006 factory cars (sport 2000s, v8 etc which are more than fast enough on road or track) seem to sell for somewhere between £15 and £17k. £20k seems to be the ceiling for all but truely exceptional cars. You can buy one of the old ZEi220 factory cars from the same period as your original car with a Cosworth turbo and T5 box (if you can find one) for around £11 - 12k. Top end sprint cars which would have cost more than your car to build really struggle at much more than £15k Highly tuned / modified cars (not just Westfields) can be a bit of a mindfield also and can scare off many concerned about reliability and their ability to get to grips with the changes made if anything goes wrong. Without alot more info there will be questions to be answered to a potential buyer about the quality of the installation and capability to run reliably at 550hp. Cooling and intercooling these engines is notoriously challenging. Most seem to end up charge cooling. Speaking from experience you don't take on these sort of conversions to make a profit or to even expect to recover your costs if you sell. You do it because you can / want to. I tuned an Ultima to 700 hp but could never sell it for a fraction of what it has cost. So I would say if you seriously wanted to sell advertise at £16 k and see if any takers. If you would sell at a price that recovered your costs but weren't bothered if it sold then £18k As ever you may get more money back breaking the car or fit a mild spec duratec and sell the Cosworth separately. Personally I would just use it and enjoy it for a few years. The value will still be the same then as now. David
neo
Like i say i just like building them to be honest and driving them but when a project is finished i get bored quick thats all and cant keep them all hah ha... That said your right this car is charge cooled not intercooled.... And again to be fair i was thinking around £16 to £17k to be honest as well.... it would go for that sort of money if someone wanted to buy it i reckon to pave way for a new project etc... Its running now just under 400bhp and and to be fair its only running 1.1bar of boost and its bl**dy plenty quick enough its got switchable boost but i cant ever see it needing it ethier its that fast, so an engine built to take 550bhp running where it is now should last a good long time the engine build was done properly too.... Cant really see me breaking it though... thanks for the comments though...

sweet orange
Hey up, Thats a cracking motor for sure. As ever something is only worth what people are willing to give. With that in mind, might i suggest listing it on Ebay aution (with a set reserve) and just see how high the bidding goes.... this should give you a demand/value idea. Just be ready for some time wasters. Good luck with it.

User0083
I saw it and valued it at 15-17k... I've seen similar for 30k, never sell, dropped price over and over and still not sell. As I said before, I have issues keeping a 2005 SeiW with 155bhp under check at times. With that, it looks one of the best car's I've seen and I'm sure done right it'll work well.
