Fangi0 Posted October 29, 2012 Posted October 29, 2012 For those who can watch an hour of Richard Hammond without throwing something heavy at the tv, there is ... 50 Years of Bond Cars: A Top Gear Special. 9 - 10pm on BBC2 tonight Before that we have the ever challenging Classic Car Rescue when... Bernie Fineman and Mario Pacione take on the restoration of a rusting Mini Cooper that looks as if it will never move again. As they work around the clock to restore it, a series of disasters means that the job is touch-and-go right up to the end. now, does that all sound a bit familiar? Yes, like the other 5 episodes judging by the WSCC notice board. Last in the series - thank God Quote
Norman Verona Posted October 29, 2012 Posted October 29, 2012 I'm recording it and will attempt to watch that annoying little twerp at some other time. Quote
Fangi0 Posted October 29, 2012 Author Posted October 29, 2012 Nicely put. I think I will record it and play back when I am out that annoying little twerp at some other time. Quote
Norman Verona Posted October 29, 2012 Posted October 29, 2012 I hadn't thought of that. Good idea. Quote
Rory's Dad Posted October 29, 2012 Posted October 29, 2012 Well, Rory and I sat down and quite enjoyed it! The boy's Dad Quote
Dave Eastwood (Gadgetman) - Club Chairman Posted October 29, 2012 Posted October 29, 2012 I really enjoyed that little stroll down memory lane I remember seeing the Spy Who Loved Me at the cinema on a summer Holliday when I was a kid; the parachute jump off the mountain got a cheer at the start of the film, but that was nothing to the moment the wheels tuck under and the dive planes pop out as the Lotus transforms. Soon as we got out of the cinema, dragged my dad to the nearest toy shop in the search for the toy Esprit! Quote
Dodgey Posted October 30, 2012 Posted October 30, 2012 Why the hate? Top gear is a sham but the hamster is ok! Quote
Norman Verona Posted October 30, 2012 Posted October 30, 2012 I just think he has an annoying repertoire. Quote
Dave Eastwood (Gadgetman) - Club Chairman Posted October 30, 2012 Posted October 30, 2012 Depends whether he's being a caricature of himself or not. (Just like any of the three really, I suppose). When he's on his own though and doing something a bit more factual, I usually find he's OK Quote
peterg Posted October 30, 2012 Posted October 30, 2012 I remember seeing the Spy Who Loved Me at the cinema on a summer Holliday when I was a kid; the parachute jump off the mountain got a cheer at the start of the film, Me too.... although I was 22 when that film came out I thought it was a good programme on the whole (if you want to see Hammond at his most irritating, try watching any episode of Richard Hammonds Crash Course, it's truly dire....) robo1968 Posted October 30, 2012 Posted October 30, 2012 Anyone thought of a way to make a Westy have it's wheels tuck under and the dive planes pop out? Quote
Norman Verona Posted October 30, 2012 Posted October 30, 2012 You could drop it off a tall building, making sure it stayed the right way up on its way down. Quote
Nick Algar - Competition Secretary Posted October 30, 2012 Posted October 30, 2012 That was a very enjoyable program, and not stupid like so many Top Gear ones can be. Although worried that he might spoil it with their own "underwater car", even that wasn't bad and loved the invisibilty cloak, OK wasn't great around the edges, but did prove the concept could work Trouble was it left me hankering for a Aston again Quote
FILFAN Posted October 30, 2012 Posted October 30, 2012 Forgot to watch it. Will get the I player on later Quote
Captain Colonial Posted October 30, 2012 Posted October 30, 2012 I'd forgotten about the Pinto flying car falling apart mid-flight and the two poor men inside. Dying in a falling Pinto is not the way to check out. Quote
