Another Diy Adventure Ends In Disaster

Not of the injury sort.

I cut all the battens and a few floorboards without mishap.

I got the battens screwed into the concrete floor at 40cm centres without mishap.

I started to put the floorboards down with my trusty Paslode gun, recently repaired at the cost of £97.

Got about half way, right on schedule to finish by 19:00 when..........................

The Paslode gun died.

I'll take it apart in the morning* and if terminal I'll have to use the air gun with large staples.

bu99er, bu99er, bu99er. Is there no DIY I can do without a problem? I should stick to cars in future.

*I may be held up for a week if Jacob turns up to finish the porch.

You have a few issues with cars as well, mon ami. You chased vapour lock for a while when the fault was electrical.

You know most fuel problems actually turn out to be electrical in the end :d;)

Surprised you didn't know that ;)

Filfan, complete rebuild twice. Last one was new chassis and carbon body. But I didn't do the original build.

Grunt, You're so kind. [p1ss take] you spell gnome with a "g"[/p1ss take]

Scott and Doug, cheers pals, I do try, HM tells me I'm very trying.

Late last night it dawned on me.

I arose from my armchair, took the Paslode gun and checked something.

YES, gas cylinder empty.

Will get a new one in when I've finished the mornaing catch-up

I'll be let out of hospital tomorrow when they've flushed all the gas out of my A***.

But being serious for a moment, it was an empty gas cylinder and I've now finished th floor. Lunch and then to build a two tier wall from solid blocks for the porch.

Filfan, worry not, so am I. :)

Floor needs to dry, the wood was damp. I know I should have dried it first but I didn't have time as I didn't know it was damp.

So we'll varnish in two weeks time.

Jacob turned up at 3 and we, well he, built most of the wall. Just need to make a small mix to place the remaining 3 blocks in.

I'm now knackered, those solid concrete blocks are heavy.

Chris, now you tell me. I'll tell Jacob, but he'll just laugh.

How's you and the family.

Did you see the post about someone spotting a Westfield in your village?
