Recommend A Track Day Db Killer / Muffler?

I had Great British Sportscars make a custom one for me as they are local so thought I'd give them a go and I'm glad I did so far. £360, stainless steel, not sure on length and I think it's 6" diameter iirc, it also brought mine down from 105db to 93db at 7250rpm. I also have a rotary engine so one of the noisiest engines around. It's filled with acoustafil as well which seems to be good stuff.

I also took the car to them as I wanted the perfect fit, didn't need to leave it they just tacked the main parts together and then I picked it up a few days later as they were waiting on the wadding.

Gavin , I'd be very interested to know the length of the can if you get a chance

Well, I've ordered the PlaysKool one so I'll let you know the db change when I'm done.

Only just got a chance to look through the forum, seeing as you've ordered a playskool one the info will probably be of no use to you. However if you do still want to know I can get the measurements before weekend.

No probs Gavin - all in hand now.

Got the PlaySkool can and it is significantly longer than my existing can - more than I imagined! anyhow, got a local place helping me out. I've taken the manifold off (what a bl**dy jigsaw puzzle getting it out!) and they are cutting the pipe off where it comes out of the 4-1 and rewelding it at a new angle, and they are also making a bracket for the front. Costing me an extra £72 all inc, which brings the total up to £320.

I put my DB meter on a step ladder about 1m from the exhaust in a "repeatable" position - i.e. it's not a scrutineer measurement but it means I can tell what the change is with the new can when done, Currently 104db (scrutineer at Castle Combe got 101.5 - correct distance, not in a courtyard, and bonnet on). Looking at the can I'm expecting quite a big drop! It's so much bigger.
