Yes they were used on dizzyless engine

Peter G has a alloy front pulley to drive the alternator, which is actually at my house at the mo. He wants £40 for it.

Yeah thought so. Shame really but I need my dizzy and it would be allot of faffing to remove it and use a seperate cam sensor

Thanks though

It's an easy job to go dizzy less. Just three additional wires. Why do you think that you will need a cam sensor?

because I'm running full sequential injection

Doesnt crank sensor work?

To run fully sequential the crank is user to give tdc but a four stroke cycle it will give tdc on pistons 1 and 3. This is used on a wasted spark and semi sequential setup. For fully sequential the cam is used to tell the ecu it's at tdc on cylinder 1 as the cams rotate once per cycle.

A lot of tuners prefer to do semi as its alot easier and not all ecu's support it.

It's been avoided cause of a few reliability issues with the COP units when used with aftermarket ecu's. There also seems to be problems with at least some of the popular aftermarket ecu's and some of the popular engines, whereby they are struggling to reliably/repeatably pick up the cam phasing propery from the background noise. This has affected the use of sequential injection too.

If using cop there should be very little noise as there are no ht leads which is the main cause.

So far and with fingers crossed my setup is all running sweet and with no sync issues

It appears on some systems the cam sensor set up itself is it's own source of noise! The VW VR6 (amongst others) seems to have been a real battle for a few to get running because of this.
