stephenh Posted October 8, 2012 Posted October 8, 2012 I have one Elite Racing Transmissions 5-speed straight-cut sequential dog engagement gearbox. This was suppied to me new by Elite in early 2011. It comes complete with their digital gear indicator (which works directly off the 'box, not a wheel sensor). It has done 3 or 4 trackdays, and 2 seasons in the Westfield Speed Series; other than that, very minimal road driving. The 'box has behaved perfectly in the time I've had it but it is a competition type box, so I'm offering for sale at less than 2/3rds of what it cost me. £2,600 all in. If you need a propshaft to fit I'll "throw" that in for free. It fits the 'box to a Sierra type diff. It will e offered for sale on Pistonheads in due course, but offered first to my fellow Westfielders. Oh, and as far as power limits are concerned, it is torque not bhp which is the transmission killler, Elite quote an upper limit of 200 lb/ft. My engine peaks at 177 lb/ft. Also, it has only every run on Millers fully synthetic competition transmission oil, as recommended by Elite, and I've changed the oil every time I've done an engine oil change, so about 3 times a year. The oil is expensive, but then again it only takes about 600 cc. to fill it! At the moment the 'box is in my car, but will be removed once I've sourced its replacement. My sole reason for changing the 'box is That I want to change to a different class in the Speed Series, and my new class won't allow the sequential box.
CSRacing Posted October 8, 2012 Posted October 8, 2012 Stephen, im tempted but out of my price bracket, for the purposes of everyone else too, Whats the ratios, and final drive. Plus has it had the mods/factory fix to the gear selector?
stephenh Posted October 8, 2012 Author Posted October 8, 2012 As far as I am aware my 'box is to the current spec., but you are welcome to check with Beagle Engineering (Elite Racing Transmissions), because I've never been told of a selector upgrade being necessary or desirable. The invoice date for mine is 21/12/2010. The ratios are: 1st.: 2.42, 2nd.: 1.786, 3rd.:1.444; 4th.: 1.222 and 5th. 1.05. The drop gear ratio is 21/20 which can easily be changed by Elite if required.
stephenh Posted October 10, 2012 Author Posted October 10, 2012 This 'box has only done about 1,240 miles from new, a mix of road, trackday and sprint/hillclimbs. In that time it has had about 5 or 6 oil changes, always using Millers fully synthetic transmission oil with nano technology (!). Might be prepared to haggle over the price. ;)
stephenh Posted October 11, 2012 Author Posted October 11, 2012 This gearbox is now sold, subject to delivery and payment.
