Norman Verona Posted October 5, 2012 Posted October 5, 2012 Just spent 20 minutes searching for cheaper light bulbs. We seem to use the 12v 20w halagon capless bulbs a lot and at 5.39€ for two it gets expensive. We have 14 of these under the kitchen wall units. Found some at £7.20 for 10. tried to process on line but couldn't as it wouldn't accept the card address other than in the UK. So I phone the orderline. "Sorry can't help you if the card is registered outside the UK." They use PayPal to process the cards and that stupid bunch of halfwits reject it without checking with the card issuer which would complete the transaction. Not sure who loses more the supplier or the customer. Quote
Norman Verona Posted October 5, 2012 Author Posted October 5, 2012 And deleted once! I posted it and got the flood warning error so I posted again. Then found it was posted twice so I deleted one. Ed to add that someone pointed out that I'd posted it twice. Hence the above. He has now deleted his post. Still they all count. Quote

ajpearson Posted October 5, 2012 Posted October 5, 2012 It is just a ploy to get more posts on here, but seriously could you order them to a UK address and get them sent to you Quote

Norman Verona Posted October 5, 2012 Author Posted October 5, 2012 That's the problem. I have a delivery address in the UK. It's the card that's the problem. It's an MBNA UK card with the French address. Paypal's system see's the address and tells you the card has been declined. Problem is it's not MBNA declining, it's PayPay! If they sent the details to MBNA it would be approved. The credit card machines/system send the cardholders name, card number and address and if all is OK the card issuer approves. However PayPal feel they're better at this than the issuer and reject it without sending the details on for approval/rejection. ******S! Quote
Norman Verona Posted October 6, 2012 Author Posted October 6, 2012 You're right there. It's probably only my card that's affected. I'm being persecuted. Quote
