Scottish Bloke Posted September 12, 2012 Posted September 12, 2012 I'm thinking of changing my front calipers, currently on HiSpec Allly jobbies but not impressed with the way they wear pads unevenly. AP jobbies are on the shopping list but pretty pricey. What do the other SSeries or Trackdayer's use to good effect?? Also been looking at Outlaw Calipers, does anyone use them and can recommend. Cheers Rich. Quote
greenandmean Posted September 12, 2012 Posted September 12, 2012 Hi Rich, had Raceleda (identical to Outlaw) on G&M when I was competing in the SS and never had a problem, worked well, no uneven pad wear and I thought they were good value for money. ps I was using Hawk pads, originally HP Plus but found them too harsh/grabby and produced lots of dust so changed to HPS and they were great. Thanks Paul, using Hawk HP plus this year, I find them excellent but the calipers are eating them unevenly as they did with previous pads. Outlaw's may be worth a look then. Quote
thos Posted September 12, 2012 Posted September 12, 2012 Found even wear on my Hispec ones but thought they weren't bled right. I like the Hispec pad pattern though, lots of compounds available from CL and Pagid etc. How do the other options fair in this regard? Quote

Plays-Kool Posted September 13, 2012 Posted September 13, 2012 Your actually on DTC 30 on the front and HP + on the rear! Quote
cast iron Posted September 13, 2012 Posted September 13, 2012 M16s cheap reliable and take the heat - Havent looked back since getting rid of my alloy 4 pots. If people think the weight makes that much difference then dont eat cake Quote
Delboy Posted September 13, 2012 Posted September 13, 2012 Hi Rich! I put wilwood midilites with 38mm pistons on my car a couple of years ago, replacing ap vented calipers! The performance is fantastic, using mintex m1144 pads. Replaced the pads this year, they were 2/3 worn and wear was very even Del Quote
Paul Aspden Posted September 14, 2012 Posted September 14, 2012 Dels brakes must be good, I fried them at Snetterton last year and they survived! Quote
John Loudon - Sponsorship Liaison Posted September 14, 2012 Posted September 14, 2012 No problem with my Hi Specs Rich Quote

pete g Posted September 14, 2012 Posted September 14, 2012 my willwoods always wear even. if you go for superites they have big pads and fit under 13" rims. i use powerlites and dynalites both work well Quote
Blatman Posted September 14, 2012 Posted September 14, 2012 Just started using Outlaw M16's on the road car. Covered ~500 miles and apart from the pads rattling in there, I'm liking them. Pad part numbers / availability is here, but I could do with some more options on the list. FWIW I think they are identical to Wilwood Dynalites as far as pad size / shape goes and I have a set of Hawk Blues somewhere so I'll dig up the part numbers for them IF I remember tomorrow... Quote
adamnreeves Posted September 14, 2012 Posted September 14, 2012 Yep the rattling at low speed drove me crazy. I used some of that 3M rubber backing which sorts that out. Quote
