Pinto Boy Posted April 28, 2003 Posted April 28, 2003 I can't make Stoneleigh so can someone tell me the next similar event - preferably down south. Or is it THE event which must be attended at all costs - including family excommunication? Thanks Quote
Mark Stanton Posted April 29, 2003 Posted April 29, 2003 Or is it THE event which must be attended at all costs - including family excommunication? Yes - why not take the family along. There is nothing elses like Stoneleigh - it IS THE BIGGEST such event There is Newark, Malvern, Kent, Harrogate, Exeter and Donington - all similar but on a much smaller scale. Quote
chrisbin Posted April 29, 2003 Posted April 29, 2003 Mark Who are the organisers? Do they have a website giving details of what will be there? I know why I would like to go, but was wondering if I can find enough good reasons to convince the family to come too, thereby guaranteeing my attendance... Quote
Mark Stanton Posted April 29, 2003 Posted April 29, 2003 Grosvenor Exhibitions are organisers - what is present has been publicised in the kit car press. Which is a vast outside arceage of club stands - virtually all forms of kit car both past and present Then there are the exhibition halls - with 99.9% of all current manufacturers displaying their cars + all those small independent specialist suppliers where you can buy parts, tools - nearly anything. For the family there are 4x4 displays, some small fair rides for the toddlers, knick knack stalls for your er indoors. You can even buy yourself a tent and sleeping bag Just try it at least once - if you like it then fine - if not then that's fine as well whatever floats your boat. My own personal preference is I'd rather give shows a miss and just turn up for the "social" (I've been at Stoneleigh for the last 16 years at least) - However there are thousands of people that really enjoy it. Go on you know you wanna Quote

TBH I'm looking forward to a couple of years time when I can bring son along and we can camp Quote
Pinto Boy Posted April 29, 2003 Author Posted April 29, 2003 Found these sites, which have some info. http://www.totalkitcar.com/tkc_article_241.shtml http://www.stoneleigh-park.com/ As there isn't a lot info on the net I presume it is for real enthusiasts rather than a commercial money making event - like the Earl's Court Motor show. Got my first Westie a couple of weeks ago so really want to see what options are out there in terms of upgrades. Going to Brands on Monday so it'll be a cross country trek - but looks like it'll be worth it Quote
