Bob Green Posted September 1, 2012 Posted September 1, 2012 So, I was planning of going to Ty Croes today but as the Donington Kit Car show was on, I decided to go there to offer support to the event. Suffice to say, I wish I kept with my original plan. Not one to gripe but I though it was very poor, in fact I know I have been to better club meetings when I used to attend them. Anyway, enough of that, here are some images. Quote
Mark Stanton Posted September 1, 2012 Posted September 1, 2012 Maybe not so good this year but give it time Bob - this is the first time this show has been on the calendar for many years after its previous organisers decided to run it into the ground and then shelve it after some diabolical organisation despite some great support from the WSCC and many other clubs it used to be a crackin show and has the chance to become good again - but it will take time - Having it same weekend as 750 meet is possibly a good thing to attract the show'ers, the go'ers and the racers Quote
Bob Green Posted September 1, 2012 Author Posted September 1, 2012 I understand your point Mark. I guess I will go next year (only down the road for me) but the organisers need to think how to make something special rather than just rent some ground to the various clubs and hope crowds from the 750MC wander across to the KC show as if they did, they would not too impressed with it. Comparisions have to be made and if you consider Stoneleigh, well that is an a whole different ball game and that is exactly what the organisers of Donington should get their head around. Make it happen and the crowds will start to appreciate their hard earned cash is well spent. I am sure folk will not agree with me but looking in from the outside, I was saddened with it. Quote
User0083 Posted September 1, 2012 Posted September 1, 2012 Great racing, locost championship (1300cc) was awesome! 38 cars with same engine... CARNAGE! Great support from clubs and huge Westfield turnout. Ok, the show itself was pretty bare and all I wanted was a couple of bits on stands at staff's and Exeter... But hardly any stalls. Food's shocking and probably worst I've seen at this style of event. But £20 for Mrs C and myself to camp and watch racing is outstanding! Quote
Dave Eastwood (Gadgetman) Posted September 1, 2012 Posted September 1, 2012 Yeah, wasn't there too long myself, but quite enjoyed it! There weren't too many stands, but what there were I thought were OK for a show very much in its infancy. Add in the attractions outside and on the whole it seemed a promising event, all be it one with plenty of work to do. I really hope they do well enough to repeat it next year and that they can build on it. Quote
User0083 Posted September 1, 2012 Posted September 1, 2012 "Entertainment Tent" How easy is it to erase memories? Quote

User0083 Posted September 1, 2012 Posted September 1, 2012 I second that... But free beer??? Huh? Quote
Mark Stanton Posted September 1, 2012 Posted September 1, 2012 you're already drunk ........ Boney posted free music not beer Warning: speed reading may harm ones alcohol intake Quote
DITCH Posted September 1, 2012 Posted September 1, 2012 Have to agree with Bob, and speaking to a few Traders, they feel its cost em more than what they had made. But as I am a local, I will still support the event, as long as it does not end up like Duff Stafford !!!!!! My main Gripe was the "bl**dy" awfull drive way into the place, Christ if you don't end up with gravel damage to the Gel coat it's a miracle !!!!! Note to Owner: "Please get some local pikeys to lay some cheap road down"......Thank you!!! :t-up: Quote
