Westfield Zetec Se - Deposit Taken

I've decided to bite the bullet and put my narrow up for sale.

I'll try not to waffle about it, but I'd like to give a bit of the spec and a bit of the history.

I purchased the car in 2004 as a bright eyed 19 yr old from a WSCC member from this forum. I had looked at a couple but this one took my fancy as it had a few of the bits that I was interested in (cycle wings, five speed box etc)

Once I had it home and enjoyed it over the winter I started to think about upgrading and updating items, so over the next 7 years I have practically changed everything bar the drivetrain and chassis, including (amongst lots of others) an engine swap to a from a 1600 xlfow on Webers to a 2ltr Zetec on tbs and a full respray.

Unfortunately over the previous 2 years I have used the car less and less to the point where it is becoming a permanent fixture in the garage, and whilst it really does genuinely upset me to be selling it, it's just not getting the use it needs - and I could do with the space.

List of the spec and upgrades below:

Chassis/Bodywork

1988 Narrow Live axle Chassis (registered in 1992)

Resprayed in Ferrari Rosso Red

Black Cycle Wings

4 inch M&P lights

Fluke Carbon Indicator Pods

Engine

2ltr Silvertop Zetec

GSXR1000 Tbs with Carbon Fibre Trumpets/baseplate

Omex 600 Management

Westfield Manifold and Stainless Exhaust

Drivetrain

5 speed type 9 (has reconditioned sticker on but I don't know when this was done)

Westfield remote extension (brings the gear lever out from under the dash)

3.89 diff

Billet Titanium Gear Lever (Dad is a whizz with a lathe) :)

Suspension/Steering

Avo Suspension front and rear (Fronts have completed 2 laps of Curborough)

300lb front springs,

140 rear springs

Rally Design 2.4 quickrack (also only done 2 laps of Curborough)

Interior

2mm Carbon front bulkhead

Fluke Carbon Dashboard

Westfield 80mm Tacho

Vdo Speedo and 52mm gauges (fuel, oil pressure, oil temp, water temp)

Momo D-Shaped Suede Wheel

SPA Design Removable Boss

Carbon Tunnel top

R500 style fibreglass seats

Sabelt 3 inch 4 point Harnesses with Aircraft Buckles

Odyssey PC625 battery (new purchased today 30/8/12)

Wheels & Tyres

13x6 KN Minator in Black with Chrome Lip

Yokohama A021r tyres (decent amount of life in them)

All of the above items (apart from the diff, box and chassis) I have purchased and fitted since 2004. I also replaced the mk2 escort loom with a loom from Alan at Premier Wiring after I purchased it.

When the car was mapped and corner weighted at NMS it produced 158.3hp and weighed in at 559kg - the engine was from an automatic so it has a lower peak power but better midrange torque, so Troy and Coop seemed to think it was a different cam profile to the usual 130PS spec cams.

I would say the downsides to the car are that:

It doesn't have an RAC Bar and Bootbox - never used it for touring etc so didn't need the space

the nose and bonnet have a couple of scuffs on them.

She would be a perfect start to a life of Westfields, it certainly has taught me a lot over the years, both in the mechanics, and back to basics driving of how a RWD performance car handles. I will certainly miss her but life moves on.

Please send me a PM if you would like to discuss the car further, or to just generally chat about Westfields :)

Thanks, Leigh

Thanks Alex. It just needs using, which I don't really have the time to do anymore. I've also tried to give the price as the honest amount I want for the car, rather than overpricing to spend an hour haggling to come back down to the same value - I don't see this forum/club as a normal place in respect to selling cars and I'd rather just be open with people - maybe I'm naive! :)

Yeah I arranged to view it, drove up but I think you'd gone for a run or something. Shame, it looked like a good one.

GLWS looks nice in the pics!

Grown out of that, but yours looks an excellent option not too extreme but with plenty of thoughtful additions and improvements.
