Going Fast....

Well being guy's, yes they would have balls.

I've had some quick bikes and lived in germany, done some insane 160,170mph stuff... but this is way off the scale and under "Rider requires straight jacket and padded cell" area!

it is amazing to see such skill at such speed - Guy Martin did a good filmamentary last year - great watch. I'm also amazed by service personnel, RNLI, Police, Nurses, Horse riders, electricians, and other such dangerous trades.....

i loved my old bikes but dont regret selling my ducati 999 to get the westy.

i would love to be able to ride like that but there is only 1 chance at that speed

A super bit of film, with appropriate music. Impossible to explain rationally the desire to do that, but on a more modest scale I suppose we do much the same when competing in our Westfields. So I can understand it,but I can 't explain it.

To most people my desire to drive up a narrow hillclimb course in a car weighing 575 kg, and 270 bhp under the bonnet must seem insane.

In a way, I envy them, I'd love to have the ability to control a bike of that power and that speed on such a course. I never will of course.

Only nine months to go :t-up:

I'm a bit confused though....they said 2012 at the start but I'm sure they showed Steve Plater winning (HM plant leathers and red white and blue lid). Might be wrong though.

I feel a bit sorry for people that haven't experienced a fast bike, there really isn't anything like it

those guys are nuts and it takes a lot of talent to ride at those speeds and enormous knackers :o :o :o :o

I rode bikes on the road for 2 years and lived and breathed them in that time, only regret is never going on track with them, I get offered rides all the time off my pals that have bikes and always decline as I was always one step off a big accident riding wayyy beyond my ability,I recall one day chasing my pal over the moors trying to pass him at 160mph on a right hander with prob a 80ft drop just to the side of the road   3 close calls in one day convinced me i was on borrowed time and I packed in , then I bought my first westy 2004 :t-up: and I have only riden one bike since then delivering it for a trade pal to a dealer in 2008 was a new R1 and I can honestly say the power frightened the **** out of me I did not dare wind it on    yet when I was riding all the time I used to scream the bike looking for more power  hence I will never own or ride another as I cant behave myself on them

I had my honeymoon at the 1990 IOM TT, we saw Joey Dunlop et al race and then rode over the mountain at vastly slower speeds (Honda VFR750) although it still felt pretty quick especially two up

I still have a 1996 Suzuki 1200 Bandit that I've had since new in the garage and will take it to the TT again one day...
