GreigM Posted August 31, 2012 Posted August 31, 2012 I know what you are saying Geoff, but I do think there must be a contractual looseness for the courier not to pick up, and its not the first time. I went back to parcel2go after they had a similar disaster the last time and was assure that this "almost never happens", but if you do a web search for non-collection by P2G then there's thousands of complaints. Funny what you say about customer service, I tried to contact them both via their livechat and email last night just after 7 and got no response, however posting a complaint to their twitter feed got an immediate response and the courier changed, although they did categorically state they don't guarantee collections. FILFAN Posted August 31, 2012 Posted August 31, 2012 When parcel monkey failed to collect mine there customer service was shocking. It's all online via a sort of chat window. By the answers they give they obviously haven't read what you have put and if just seems generic. Even when I told them twice that I had dropped it at the depot they wanted to re schedule collection. Then when it was delivered to the recipients address and held with a neighbour they emailed me again telling me to check next door. Idiots Quote
JulianE Posted September 1, 2012 Posted September 1, 2012 I have had issues with P2GO too , they use a scripted answer service , when you tell them the problem and you have contacted them four times already and what the problem is they still ask the same scripted questions etc etc etc , really shocking , same with them all , they are all very good until you have a problem . I now use Cotswold Couriers here who sub out to UK Mail , I did have one issue with them to which they paid for the item which was delivered and left outside a house (contractural failing), I send all parcels now with instructions on not to be left unattended and must be signed for and also try and put contact number of recipient on it . For international deliveries I use Parcelforce which has been pretty good , I always go tracked , I send lots to Europe and strangely enough Australia is very popular too Quote
FILFAN Posted September 1, 2012 Posted September 1, 2012 I don't understand why the main players parcel force, post office etc have to be so greedy if you use them direct. Seems silly that u can get a better service as they even come and collect for around half the cost by going through a diff company who are also making money. Quote
Norman Verona Posted September 2, 2012 Posted September 2, 2012 The same economics apply that apply to a bulk buy. They have substantial business from one customer. The same applies to telephone services. One customer billed £1,000,000 is far cheaper to manager than 100,000 customers billed £10 each. Quote
GreigM Posted September 2, 2012 Posted September 2, 2012 Its also shifting liability and reducing insurance, which given the amount of parcels which are lost/stolen/damaged is a significant cost... Quote
