blue ass fly Posted August 22, 2012 Posted August 22, 2012 As everyone seems to be going injection has anyone got a 1.8-2.0 zetec inlet manifold for twin webers sitting around - ime trying to get the bits together before it comes off the road at the end of "the summer" They seem to be going for daft money on ebay ,some nearly as much as new ones - so if theres a cheap one out there ille have it Thanks
buelligans Posted September 16, 2012 Posted September 16, 2012 Hi, I just got one of ebay, brand new, still in box, £87 = £8 pnp he had 4 left. was very dubious but its spot on, no bits with it tho so u will need to get gaskets nuts n bolts ect. Just took ford injection off and put twin 40 Dellortos DHLA on, u wouldnt belive the difference, its transformed the car. Im old school as i used to service cabs mainly flatsides for the racing fertanty on the IOM so im much more at home with carbs ( u can fiddle with them to get mixture right ) with no hassle. If u need the link i will try to find it for u. Dave
blue ass fly Posted September 16, 2012 Author Posted September 16, 2012 Hi dave That'll be great if you can find the link You certainly went against the grain reverting to carbs Ime the same as you - old school Years with highly tuned A series minis and then dolly sprints You say its transformed the car - in what way ?
buelligans Posted September 17, 2012 Posted September 17, 2012 FORD ZETEC DCOE/ T/BODIES INLET MANIFOLD 1.8/2.0/2.3 Item number:251140503811 Price:£85.00 Time left:Ended Cant find any more but this is the one i got, dont know where his advert is now, i shearched but no result. Wish u luck, he had more when I bid on mine. The car now pulls much better from down low, I have a straight bit of road with no speed limit ( Isle of Man ) outside my house and b4 i could just get a smigen over 70, yesterday i got nearly 85 , and u cant beat the growl of carbs. I used to have a problem getting a reliable tick over, spot on now with the Dellorto's. Hope this helps Dave

hoppy504 Posted September 18, 2012 Posted September 18, 2012 Steve. Would you be interested in a carb ( 45dcoe's ) and manifold ( Dunnell ) package, I have been trying to sell with a ECU but now may split. 45DCOE x 2 Dunnell manifold Fuel regulator, filter & hoses overhead cable mechanism Throttle position sensor I would be looking for £300 plus £20 postage or collect. john.
blue ass fly Posted September 18, 2012 Author Posted September 18, 2012 Hi john That would be ideal but to fund it i would need to sell my '40s on a cvh manifold , k&ns trumpets and socks ( if anyones interested ) Where are you located
hoppy504 Posted September 18, 2012 Posted September 18, 2012 Steve, I am located in Skegness. The reason for selling is the problem of having no local firms who have experience of setting carbs on a rolling-road., so have had a Omex fi body kit fitted by my local engineering firm. They advised me that the carb settings were out and that a rubber 0 ring was leaking causing some great backfiring on over-run.
blue ass fly Posted September 19, 2012 Author Posted September 19, 2012 John Thanks for the offer but ill leave it thanks I can get an inlet man for £85 and then rejet my 40's to suit - probably be more suited for road use as itll be more torquey lower down as apposed to high end power As said in other posts, list them on ebay but put 'contact seller for postage quote' That way you can invoice them for the money via paypal as 'money owed'-not ebay goods and you wont get charged Once theyve paid end the item on ebay and all its cost is the listing fee which is about 50p with a couple of photos
