SootySport Posted August 22, 2012 Posted August 22, 2012 I've heard good and bad about the DSG box on VAG cars but what are they like for towing the Westy on a trailer? if indeed they are able to tow. I know in old skool auto box cars they did tend to overheat a bit. Quote
Rory's Dad Posted August 22, 2012 Posted August 22, 2012 I asked the same question before buying a Seat Toledo DSG for day to day use and most people said they were good. At least one said he towed his Westy behind one with no problem. I'm very happy with mine but have added a year of warranty protection to the 3 months I got when I bought the car. Rory's Dad Quote
peterg Posted August 22, 2012 Posted August 22, 2012 I towed my single seater behind a Golf 2.0 TDi with DSG and got 37mpg all the way to Anglesey and back, it towed it better than a conventional automatic as well. we have 2 cars both same config as above one has 114k and mine has 92k on it with no problems at all... SootySport Posted August 22, 2012 Author Posted August 22, 2012 Sounds OK then, I won't rule out a DSGbox. Quote
