Norman Verona
Explorer stops working overnight about once a week. I have restarted it once but not sure what I did. The rest of the time I close down and restart. So, anyone know how to restart explorer? Thanks.
sestevao
Kill the not working explorer.exe task in task manager All icons and taskbar will disappear Next press Ctrl + Alt + Del and select Task Manager 'File > New Task (run)' and type "Explorer.exe"

Blatman
Try [ctrl][alt][del] then [esc] Haven't experienced explorer crashing personally but often these "random" errors are caused by installing or uninstalling software. I use CCleaner to keep the registry free of clutter an whilst it has it's detractors, I like it nd for me, it does what it says on the tin... Norman Verona
I also use ccleaner to clean up the registry. I'll try your method first and if that doesn't start it then I'll try sestevao's. Many thanks
