Side Mirrors For Se Narrow....

Recommended Posts

where would I find mirrors that bolt onto the alloy side screen posts on a narrow body? Or do i need to buy new posts with specific mirror mounts? My side mirrors are mounted on the doors, which I dont use much.

Link of a photo of my side posts/ pillars below. Cant seem to embed from my ipad.

I'm just swapping over to supports with mirror mounts but they mount higher on the scuttle so it's a bit of a faff.

Some people just bolt small race mirrors to the supports you have but I don't know how much you can see through them.

From experience the race ones as Geoff has indicated do give a limited view . If you like chrome I have a pair of round chrome ones that bolt through the holes you have if you are interested as I am going down the Carbon and black route (Aluminum narrow bonnet also available soon )

They sound cool Julian. I just need something to make sure i dont pull out when other people are overtaking :-). You got a pic / price ? . Roger.donoghue at gmail dot com.

Btw. Anyone got a link to a car with mirrors that stick out like these?

Thinking i can tap a hole in the alloy pillar and screw them in, using the locknut and some threadlock to secure.

These are nice but over twice the price

I have the Spa ones, and use the upper pillar support screw for mounting, but they have limited view, even with the convex mirrors - the flat mirrored one are useless.

Interesting. Is it the closeness to the car that is the issue? Because i have the kitspares ones mounted on my removable doors and the visibility is perfectly adequate.

I bought a mirror on a stick from eBay for a moped or similar and cut the "stick"

Part down and welded a bit of Steel

Strip to it . I then drilled the flat part of the screen pillars and mounted it fairly high up.

Thanks Hammy, I've sorted it now (in the Techy thread - how do i remove SE narrow screen) - pretty much the same idea with existing bike mirrors that were on my doors. Visibility is perfect.
