Cambs Area Visit To Chedder Gorge, Dates And Ideas.

Cleggy mentioned a while back that he wanted to take a run out to Chedder Gorge to have a bit of a blat up and down the mountain.

We discussed this and realised that the only practical to do it would be an over nighter Saturday to Sunday.

The proposal is that we leave very early doors on the Saturday to get down to Chedder before the traffic stops play, then have a blat around and onto a guest house/hotel for food and a few beers.

Sunday would be another early start to enjoy the blat back home before the traffic gets to heavy.

If that appeals and you are interested post up below so we can get the ball rolling.

Mark J has said he'll sort the hotel/guest house and routes so it'll all be good quality stuff.

September looked to be the preferred month so the dates for that are.

1st-2nd (last weekend of the kids holidays so maybe not the best weekend to do this)

8th-9th

15th-16th

22nd-23rd

29th-30th

Have you guys been to Cheddar before? Only it's probably not that exciting. They are great roads when you aren't stuck behind 20 cyclists / some plodder doing 50% of the speed limit / a tourist bus. The Police no longer seem to be fans of car meets there either.

Regardless I'm sure some us South-West people will join you there :d

Getting right peeved now :arse:

Mag's Dad is planning to come over from Spain to visit us in September.

He's in his seventies, has had a triple bypass in the last year and has Parkinsons.

This will probably be his last visit over and due to his health issues it will be a last minute affair so I now need to keep the weekends in September open as I'll need to be around to support him diring his visit.

This means that September is now totally out for me going to Chedder and October is looking very iffy too...............

I'm happy to co-ordinate with Mark J on the details and organisation but it is very unlikely I'll make it myself.
