The scam involving getting your internet bank details probably could be traced as the scammers would need a bank account. If the theft was reported within hours of the bank being emptied then they may catch them at the other end. But why should the banks be interested, they haven't lost anything. Its the old problem of funding and police not being able to work on this kind of theft. Its ok for people like the OP when they are wise to what is happening.
