Thank You Russell :: Westfield Parts Superhero...

A huge, huge thanks to Russell from Westfield Parts department. There are not enough emoticons here to express my gratitude.

My trip to Blyton for the track day and to help out on Saturday started early Thursday morning, leaving my house in North London and heading to Birmingham Business Park for a morning's work, then off to Blyton. All going OK, even the dodgy fuel gauge seemed to right itself.

I left Brum and got as far as the Lichfield road on my way to Blyton when the clutch cable snapped!

Of course I don't have a spare on me, so after an hour of faffing about to see if I could fix it, I called Westfield and quickly got through to Russell in parts. Russell checked he had a cable and I bought it over the phone. I then explained the predicament I was in - about as far away from home and Blyton as I could possibly be! We thought it unlikely that I could get to the factory for five so I could pick up and fit and I asked if they had their lowloader and could they get to me - the answer was no. I'm b*******ed then or so I thought...

Thoughts started re getting me home with a busted car, or somewhere near the factory and local B&B, or recovery to Blyton and hope I can get someone to help there.

However - and again I'm eternally grateful. Russell said he thought I was a “bit stuck” and volunteered to drive out to me after work and help fit the new clutch cable! What a star! What excellent service! Russell duly arrived sometime after closing - he never said but I suspect he was stuck in traffic for a good half hour too.

I'm so grateful to you Russell for coming out and fitting, it was not the best way to spend your free time and not the best of weather to be crawling under a Westy.

Thank you, thank you, thank you.

I can't agree more, they're suppliers are taking long than expected to get my exhaust sorted and so he's offered to drive to the suppliers and pick it up as soon as its ready.

Really helpful guy

Tip top service that, and way beyond what he is paid for. Russ and Gav are brilliant guys.

I met up with Russ at Stoneleigh and he gave me the biggest hug ever  He was very complimentary about my car and told me he had followed the build thread all the way through :)

True enthusiasts :westy:

Thats what you call a guy 100% commited to his customers, well above the call of duty, Russ is a top man. A letter to Mr Turner is definitely required to ensure Russ's actions are made known to the company. If only everyone in the company was as focussed as the hard pushed parts guys.

I couldn't agree more but it is a case of Lions led by Donkeys !

Surely you've had your (many, and very justified) criticism threads, and can let just one slip by with praise where it's due?
