Captain Colonial Posted July 16, 2012 Posted July 16, 2012 Hello all Had this email today from Ian Stent at Complete Kit Car regarding the Donington Kit Car Show on the weekend of 1-2 September, which I reproduce in full below and highlighted the relevant bit. If anyone is interested, I would ask that you contact ONLY Ian Stent directly on the numbers shown at the bottom (not anyone here within the WSCC please, nought to do with us) - I've not printed his email address to avoid him getting spammed by nasty little web bots. Over to you... "Hi chaps, Not quite sure who to direct this at, so cc'd you all in! I wonder if you can help me on this. You may already be aware that at the Donington Show we are planning an important display in the main hall, called Kit Car Heritage. This will have around 20+ different cars that have made a significant impact on the scene over the years. www.doningtonkitcarshow.co.uk I want to include an early Westfield, and hope that you can guide me to the right car! We only have a slot for one example, but should it be a pre-lit car or an early narrow bodied SE? I'm open to suggestions/pursuation on that, as I think there is validity to show either of them. Whichever example, the car needs to be as original as possible (original style wheels and swept wings are a must). It does not have to be immaculate, but will be representing the breed... so ought to be tidy! The car needs to be on the stand over the show weekend (Sept 1/2) and we will be making an accompanying information board to go with it. OK, I won't bore you with more information at this stage. If you need any more, then just contact me. I could do with some contact details of potential candidates as soon as possible, to get this 'in the bag'. Hope you can help me or point me in the right direction. All the best Ian Ian Stent Editor Complete Kit Car W: www.completekitcar.co.uk T: 01823 335443 M: 07595 021922" Quote
dhutch Posted July 17, 2012 Posted July 17, 2012 I guess if you cant find a pre-lit, almost any vaguely period narrowbody with clam shells and a x-flow would do? Although there cant be a super huge number of them even. Daniel Quote
Mark Stanton Posted July 17, 2012 Posted July 17, 2012 Paul - Dons isn't that early (89-90) and deffo not a pre-lit :-) Quote
greenandmean Posted July 18, 2012 Posted July 18, 2012 Hi Mark long time no see, they didn't specifically ask for a pre-lit and surely 89/90 is early enough, whatever anybody would have to look very hard to find a nicer example that hasn't been butchered err sorry upgraded. Quote
