Neil414 Posted July 15, 2012 Posted July 15, 2012 hey guys, does anyone recognize this rear fog light, as trying to find a replacement is tricky! someone thought it was off a trailer, but its not! any ideas would be greatly appreciated Quote
pistonbroke Posted July 15, 2012 Posted July 15, 2012 looks to me like one half of a standard westfield fog lamp , just the lens part used iff that's possible ? Quote
Neil414 Posted July 15, 2012 Author Posted July 15, 2012 When i ordered the replacement off wes tfield, its a completely differant looking unit Quote
SootySport Posted July 16, 2012 Posted July 16, 2012 It is probably a Generic single foglamp that was sold when the lighting regs. changed to include foglamps. Millions were sold in Halfords, supermarkets and all car accessory shops. Quote
carbonizer Posted July 16, 2012 Posted July 16, 2012 surely a simple enough job to change for a standard unit though? Quote
BillyPee Posted July 17, 2012 Posted July 17, 2012 You can get that style of light fitting from Car Builder Solutions (CBS). You could consider changing to the more modern looking round rear fog light which you can get as a kit from Playskool. Neither option will break the bank. Quote
Stuart Posted July 17, 2012 Posted July 17, 2012 It could be ancient - I had one of those on the Mini Marcos I built in 1976 Quote
Neil414 Posted July 17, 2012 Author Posted July 17, 2012 thanks guys for the suggestions ill have a look and see what i can find Quote
Blatman Posted July 17, 2012 Posted July 17, 2012 Or remove it and blank off the switch for the MOT (assuming that's what's on your mind other than it needs replacing anyway..). Fog lights are not required on pre SVA vehicles and on Q platers. Neither are reverse lights or side repeaters. Don't know aboout SVA'd / IVA'd cars though... Quote
Castlecroft Posted July 17, 2012 Posted July 17, 2012 Hi, I have just had exactly the same problem, I too required a rear fog lens 115 x 53. I could not find one anywhere, so I ended up getting an LX676 (a clear lens of the correct size) from max parts and spraying the inside red with some plastikote paint from b&q, it worked great.. Job done for under £10 The web link to the site is http://www.maxparts.biz/lighting/front-a-fog-lamps.html?category_id=29&page=shop.browse&limit=20&start=80 Since then I have found the exact lens in the Europa catalogue, but it's not listed on their web site ?? You could ring them first Hope this helps Quote
