l use Rhinogoo designed for motocross bikes(lots of plastics)

spray on wash off with bucket of water. I find it very good.

whatever dirt is on the car and rubbing it with a rag, obviously the dirt will come off!

But as well as coming off it's going the other way and grinding into the paint. They claim the stuff protects the paint but that depends on how much sharp grit there is and how hard you rub. I've seen microscope pictures of paint surfaces after a normal wash. You wouldn't believe how scratched the surface was.
