Creak, Creak,

Sitting in the day room a few days ago when it was raining.

I heard a creak.

Got up to look around the wall it came from. All seemed OK, the TV bracket was firm as a rock.

It happened again about an hour later so I looked at the inside of the wall (of the utility room).

About an hour later I watch as the picture on the wall above the TV slowly falls apart. The bottom rail of the frame comes away from the upright on one side. It then comes away on the other side. The glass and hardboard back slowly slide down. Then they fall out, hit the bookcase below the TV and fall to the left and the glass smashed into thousands of bits on the floor.

The floor in question is the one with the half stuck terracotta tiles which now have a few shards of glass in the gaps. I've tried the vacuum cleaner. Some will end up buried in the grout.

Maybe it was a ghost and the ghost was telling you to get off your :arse: and get the floor finished :d

Put some carpet down

Not allowed. HM has asthma so no carpets.

I really like the picture so I've pritt sticked it the hardboard back and re-hung it. Looks crap so I'll have to get another frame.

OK - try using an old tooth brush down the cracks whilst vacuuming at the same time

John, thanks for the tip.

However, it may be easier to pick up the loose tiles and remove the glass :)

OK - dont forget to wear full safety gear - we know your track record! ;)

Ouch Norm, bad luck! (should-show-sad-face-but-emotcons-not-working-at-the-moment???)

You can get a "grout-removal-tool" that's only realy a hook shape cut out of a bit of flat strip. If the grout's still green it may come out easily and save you taking the tiles up.

good luck

Derek, you've not been following my tile saga.

There is no grout. You can only grout the joints when the tiles are fixed. I've only stuck some of them 3 times now so a fourth attempt is yet to come. Then the grout.

Be careful using a toothbrush down your crack, they can be quite abrasive :arse::cry:
