Bananaman Posted December 13, 2002 Posted December 13, 2002 Just speaking to a bloke at work who went Go-karting last night. Green smiley required. It got me thinking we (Northern WSCC types) should arrange a team challenge. Teams from each reigon i.e. West Yorkshie, Manchester, Cheshire & Mersyside could have a night/day at a decent indoor Karting venue (any ideads). Some time in early Feb, should give us something to look forward to post Xmas. Wadayathink?? Andy losers buy the BEER. Quote
Mike dB Posted December 13, 2002 Posted December 13, 2002 That sounds good to me!! Erm, guess the only 'decent' karting place is Daytona in Manchester or 3 sisters if you like freezing you nuts & bolt off! I'll have to put weight on over Xmas so I have an excuse for losing! Quote
Paul Hurdsfield - Joint Manchester AO Posted December 13, 2002 Posted December 13, 2002 Speak to Richard Duddell ex Manchester AO, hes involved in one at three sisters in early march, contact him for more info I've just copied this from his e-mail What do you reckon? Can we get 8 of us together for a team? or more for a couple of teams. Let me know if you are interested Rich Original Message It does help if you can type the date correctly - my apologies - its the 8th March GO-KARTING... I'm trying to organise a WSCC v Formula Ford chaps at the 3 Sisters Race Course near Wigan on Saturday 8th march (hopefully that is not a speed series day). 70 mph twin engine Zip-Karts - 4 hour endurance race + ½ hour practice. Racing on the 1km course. You are allowed as many people as you want in a team (minimum 2) 3 sisters will allow up to 18 cars (teams) on this event. The driver change / refuelling schedule is totally up to the individual team. The usual price of this event is £360 per team HOWEVER if I get a list together of enough interested teams then we will all get a discount (as a friend of mine knows the owner of the 3 sisters). e.g. So if it is £360 and there is 8 in your team then it will cost £45 each which equals ½ hour + practise each. I need to compile this list of teams/people ASAP so if you are interested please could you email / ring me ASAP. if your name is not on the initial discount list then you will not get any discount. This is an open race and anyone can book (i.e. it's not reserved for us) so another reason for getting back to me ASAP is I can reserve our teams on this event. If you do not have enough for a team then please put your name forward and I can possibly form a team from other people. After I have got the discount sorted each team will have to ring and book/pay individually. Please do not try and book this event before I have reserved these teams. I will contact you with the number to ring etc. when the list of teams has been reserved. This is simply the best & closest racing I have ever done, all the Karts are in good condition and are of identical performance - of course i'll have the duff one . 70mph in a kart - bring it on !! and you do reach the 70mph down the straight. Please could you pass this on to other WSCC members. Please email me on tony.mcgrath@metagence.com Or ring me on 0113 2240541 (work) 07740 465307 (mobile) See you on 3rd Dec (W Yorks WSCC meet), Cheers, Tony McGrath (Red hair - Black Megabird) PS// I have no connection at all with the 3 Sisters or Aintree Racing. I'm having nothing to do with the money side of it i.e. you pay book directly with the 3 sisters racecourse. The sole motivation of trying to organise this event is so I can kick my mates formula ford butt and you guys can open a can of whoop A*** on the rest of the formula ford chaps - Satisfaction guaranteed Daytona in Manchester aint up to much imo Speedkarting in Warrington is much better. of course I wont be there cos I'll be in the Maldives then Quote
Bananaman Posted December 13, 2002 Author Posted December 13, 2002 of course I wont be there cos I'll be in the Maldives then Tough at the Top is it? This sounds good but i was thinking indoor & earlier in the year by about 4-5 weeks, dont think i can wait that long. Andy Quote
