Dave the Sparky Posted June 24, 2012 Posted June 24, 2012 Maybe a daft question this, but can you fit a private plate to a Q plate? Dave Quote
darve Posted June 24, 2012 Posted June 24, 2012 I'm sure I read in passing you can't. google transfer private number plate and the direct.gov website said something about it on there. HTH edit: too slow Quote
Captain Colonial Posted June 24, 2012 Posted June 24, 2012 I've got an opinion on private plates. And once I retire from being Membership Secretary, I might just make it public. But not now. Quote
s2rrr Posted June 24, 2012 Posted June 24, 2012 Controversial ------ come on you know you want to. Bob Quote
Captain Colonial Posted June 24, 2012 Posted June 24, 2012 Oh, I WANT to - but I'm wise enough not to. Quote
Norman Verona Posted June 24, 2012 Posted June 24, 2012 I have a personal number plate. BUT it's personal to the car, not me. I wouldn't be so stuck up my own orifice to have my name or initials on a car. My car is a Caterham BDR and the number plate is B16 BDR (BIG BDR). The real reason for getting it was so I could get a smaller plate. They're really tiny. I looked for a 4 or 5 digit plate and came across this for sale so paid my £125 and became the proud owner. My friend over here bought himself a Porsche 996. He had to register it in the department and knows someone in the Prefecture at Angers. Got a plate with 996 in it. Quote
SteveD Posted June 24, 2012 Posted June 24, 2012 nowt wrong with pp , some epeople take the p*** moving letters to extremes and distort letters and numbers to extremes etc and look stupid and some just are not worth having like p987 fej when your name is felix edward jones i have A 8URP which is kinda me and it was £250 it was worth that as it makes folk point and laugh and that cant be a bad thing putting a smile on people faces and WIIIEMD sons name is willem davies its on bevs volvo until he can drive, it was a present for him Quote
Mark (smokey mow) Posted June 24, 2012 Posted June 24, 2012 I have 2 plates, one on retention but TBH i'd rather be withut them. Quote
Dave the Sparky Posted June 24, 2012 Author Posted June 24, 2012 I have a personal number plate. BUT it's personal to the car, not me. I wouldn't be so stuck up my own orifice to have my name or initials on a car Bit harsh and judgemental Norm, my wife has her initials, it was a gift not a stuck up decision of own self importance and I have my company initials on my van as it used to hide the fact that my old van was knocking on a bit! Personally I think theyre a right royal pain in tha ass, paying to swap em around. Personally Im just note a lover of the Q plate but thats just me not a judgement. Now I know anyhow, so many responses so soon Yet another wet Sunday! Dave Quote
Norman Verona Posted June 24, 2012 Posted June 24, 2012 Dave, I was referring to myself. If others want their name or initials on the number plate then, not only is it's OK by me, but has nothing to do with me. It's not like your evading tax is it? I like Oysters. many don't. Quote
Lordbenny Posted June 24, 2012 Posted June 24, 2012 . I wouldn't be so stuck up my own orifice to have my name or initials on a car. No, but you would be hypocritical enough to mention it on a car forum knowing upsetting fellow owners! .....Pot/Kettle springs to mind! Quote
Lordbenny Posted June 24, 2012 Posted June 24, 2012 Dave, I was referring to myself. Keep digging! Quote
