They had an M3 Dax Rush at Stoneleigh. The Dax guy was saying it suffers from understeer.

Wonder why :)

I followed the build of this. Pretty sure the seller isn't the guy who built it either. I wanted to build a Legend6 using my (now broken for parts) 328i track car but decided it was too much time and money. Even a light weight spec (I don't think that's the light weight chassis) is quite heavy. Particularly with an iron block M3 engine in there. But it's probably not that much worse than quite a lot of SEiGHT's is it? Certainly has a lot more power than many.

looks well built though - an interesting alternative to an Seight

I like it....

Is the m3 engine similar to the 3.0l six pot? They must have done some serious wedging to get that in there.

Stupid iPhone keeps taking away keyboard to type on here!

Anyhow, which 3.0 6cyl do you mean? The M54b30 was an alloy block rather than iron. The later N52 had a magnesium alloy block and was even lighter. The S54 engine from the e46 M3 would be the one to have even though it's iron. A masterpiece of an engine... although the e90/92 M3 V8 weighs in about the same!

Yes E46 engine would be nice 346bhp if I remember right? I think this has the E36?

I'd still have it, I'd just paint it red lol....

I was in a workshop that had the engine out of a 360 Ferrari yesterday, not a huge lump once you take all the ancillaries off and available second hand for less than a fancy Duratec build...............

sorry matt i dont know enough about bmw engines to answer that (esp what the different E numbers refere to, i know mine is an e85), i know they do a 6 cylinder 3.0l one (like in my z4) and a 3.2 and i thought that the 3.2 was in the m3 at one point, the onein the pic looks a bit like that. they dont look the smallest of engines so fitting it into a westy type car must be a whole load of wedging. although worth it i would imagine for the power they give out.

But what is it?

A GKD

A Westfield

A Caterham

If it was in a toybox it would be a BMW

I thought the Rover V8 engines were't that much heavier than the usual 2 litre 4 cylinders ??

Anyone got any figures please ?
