There are a few of us from the manchester area likely to be attending, possibly having a blat down the A515 towards ashbourne/uttoxeter onto the A513 Tamworth then the A5 for northhampton if anyone wishes to tag along.

 I’ve still got all my Transformers and still challenge mates to Optimus Prime changing races….

I spent ages as a kid trying to mimic the transforming noise they make and never got there

A quick google wack revealed the following site even has phone logos (down the right hand side of the page):

Be sad here

For those feeling they are missing out on this piece of history here is a little gem to wet your appetite: D

If you're coming that way, watch out for the Speed Cameras a couple of miles after the A38 junction at a place called HINTS.

From what I have heard it transformed itself in to an AA trailer again.

For future reference the correct colour name for AA livery is "Traffic Yellow" - let me know if you need some mixing up.

He's a very very very very very nice man !

PS - Santa Pod was packed - they stopped signing on at 260 !

Good to see Greg and John from Northants plus our fan club to watch, and the lads from Manchester & Staffs, I hope you all had safe journeys home.

As for me - due to Santa Pod being packed only got 2 runs in (and I was in a huff - see run 2):

Run 1

Elapsed Time 13.509

MPH at 1/4 Mile 100.06

Run 2

Overshot Stage - when light turned Green yours truly still in reverse. b******* !

Still a brilliant day out - and lots of wild stuff to watch.

Fell in love with a '68 Camaro 400.

Did the earth move darling - it bl**** did when that top fuel thingy launched !

Well I brung'd it and I wrung'd its neck  :0

So here we go

run 1 lane 2

et 14.284.........92.58mph

run2 lane 1

et 14.775.........92.21mph loads of wheelspin in 1st & 2nd.

so now you know, no bullsh*t its there in black and white,

Just not quite sure if a 360mile round trip is worth it for

28 seconds of track time.

we set off at 6.00am and got home at 8.30 pm

nice to see Chris again, us AOs have got to show willing and

encourage the lads to turn up  ;)

also nice to meet some of the other westy owners who bothered to come along  :D

weren't them bikes awesome  :t-up:

7 1/2 hours travelling the 360 miles from manchester and back for 28 seconds lap time was a bit dissapointing, i thought we would have got 5 or 6 runs in or at least more than 2. still, at least the weather was good (hows the sunburnt nose paul ?) and the drive there and back was decent, well apart from the M1 being shut.

Times recorded for the box standard 2.0l zetec on twin 45's (the same set up as paul hurdsfield) are as follows :

run 1 - 14.294 sec  93.22 mph

run 2 - 14.363 sec  93.04 mph

perhaps setting off in second gear may have helped instead of sitting there with the wheels spinning in first.

I'd like to add those times to the times on my web site (at www.seight.com/perf.html).  Could you please supply estimated (or known) horsepower, engine details (Chris) and what tyres you were using (and your surname Glen) ?  I'd also like the full details off the slip i.e. 60ft, 330ft, 1/8, 3/16 and 1/4 data.

Ian
