Bananaman Posted June 1, 2012 Posted June 1, 2012 Anybody got any a free download of photo editing software? Only need to be quite simple!!! Quote
Dave Eastwood (Gadgetman) Posted June 1, 2012 Posted June 1, 2012 Depends what you want to do, and how long you need it for. Gimp is always well thought of, or many of the upload/hosting services like Picassa and Photobucket have editing software. If you only need it for a short time, one month trial editions of things like Photoshop Elements are very, very powerful and reasonably easy to use. (You can usually download a trial edition of the full Photoshop to, but that's much more of a learning curve!) Quote
Dibby Posted June 1, 2012 Posted June 1, 2012 If you're into downloading hooky copies you can't go far wrong with Adobe's Lightroom. All the tools you need for photo development in an easy to use package, far more intuitive than Photoshop. Or like Gadgetman says, GIMP would be the way to go for free software if you want something more advanced than the standard crap that comes with Windows. Quote
Dave Eastwood (Gadgetman) Posted June 1, 2012 Posted June 1, 2012 Lightrooms an excellent product, non-destructive editing is great, and it's editing functionality has come on in leaps and bounds since the early versions, but I'm not sure I'd bother with it for some basic editing stuff. It doesn't really have any wizard based "assistance", and though it's a whole heap less of a learning curve than Photoshop, I've still found even good amateur photog's can be a little daunted by it on first run. Easy as pie once you're used to it, but just for tweaking a photo or two... Quote

Blatman Posted June 2, 2012 Posted June 2, 2012 The CD that came with your digital camera almost certainly has image editing software on it... Quote
