Dave Eastwood (Gadgetman) - Club Chairman
While I do believe that "older" cars, (as in the design and method of being built) often do seem to have a certain individual character, the name thing and the referring to it as "her" and "she" is one of those things I just don't get, never have. Welly Jen
Mr Toad. I was 'phoning my Mum to arrange a visit and she said "Are you going to be driving your Mr Toad car?" The name stuck. Being green and yellow with big chrome headlights helped of course. Jen
stephenh
I don't normally go in for naming cars, but my Westfield used to be (sometimes) the Wee Beastie. However in its current rather extreme spec., it tends to simply be The Beast! Oh, and very many years ago, before we married, my wife had a Mini which she called Dougal Emma. Captain Colonial
Perhaps now would be a good time to explain why it's called "The Wench" - Lady C named it when I first got her, not me. When I asked her why, she explained it was because it was loud, flashy, attention-seeking, noisy, smoked a bit, drank like a fish, hated being left on her own for too long, liked it rough, and if you stayed inside her for too long, your went numb. The name stuck.

Tim Ellershaw
For many years I thought my friend's Lotus was called Custardy, due to it's yellow colour, but it turned out it was actually called "custody" because that is all he had left after the divorce.
