Jumpy07 Posted May 6, 2012 Posted May 6, 2012 On the Scottish run today, Kev managed to kill a Pheasant, fortunately he was wearing a helmet when the bird hit him in the head committing instant suicide... luckily all he has as a result is a sore neck We have now reported him to the RSPB for cruelty to birds, please feel free to make more complaints at http://www.rspb.org.uk/ if you find the un-timely death of this noble bird shocking :-) All joking aside.. glad your ok, scares the crap out of me what would have happened if you hadnt had a helmet on.. Pics from run to follow.. Craig Quote
Jenko Posted May 6, 2012 Posted May 6, 2012 Hummm....I quit often go out with a beanie hat and wrap around sun glasses...hate to think what would happen if I hit a bird!!!. Good business for someone to come up with a half way hat to protect the head, but not be as restrictive as a helmet........ Quote

I've got one of these "ATV" masks from "Save Phace"...think its a good compromise.... Quote
markcoopers Posted May 6, 2012 Posted May 6, 2012 And what do you have that for, bank robbery or scaring the wife? Quote
GreigM Posted May 6, 2012 Posted May 6, 2012 I'm scary enough without the mask....so bank jobs it is! Quote
Jumpy07 Posted May 6, 2012 Author Posted May 6, 2012 I thought they were to go with his Gimp suit lol... def some sort of fetish lmao Craig Quote
Captain Colonial Posted May 6, 2012 Posted May 6, 2012 Surely this was a suicide attack flight by a member of al-Quackeda? Quote
frag68 Posted May 6, 2012 Posted May 6, 2012 Didnt affect Kevin once we came out of Balloch. Was back on form. No after effects of the pheasant attack. If he was a few weeks later we could have had it for Neville's barbeque. Next time it needs to be a deer. Venison barbequed is a treat. Only joking, It was not good, within a few hundred yards between my sump and the pheasant incident, it was an interesting bit of road. Glad it didnt make too much of an impact though. Fraser Quote
s2rrr Posted May 7, 2012 Posted May 7, 2012 Was that the only bird he'd picked up recently, seriously though it goes to show how prepared he was and how fortunate he was. I hit a pheasant once in a tin top and it took out my engine grill. Must have shocked and hurt Kev but luckily he was protected from this very unexpected accident. Bob Quote
Bob Green Posted May 7, 2012 Posted May 7, 2012 Only yesterday, I followed an aero-screened Westfield in to Stoneleigh. The occupants were wearing beanie hats and I thought "If a bird hit them now...................". An appropiate thread to place this. Quote
jak Posted May 7, 2012 Posted May 7, 2012 Bad day for the birds, then. I killed a pigeon on the way to Shelsley Walsh yesterday, although I was in my Mondeo. Glad no serious injuries resulted from the Pheasant. John Quote
Mooch Posted May 7, 2012 Posted May 7, 2012 Had three in a row once driving through the lanes in Wiltshire. They leap out of the hedges determined to die. First took out a headlight on my old Fiestsa (cheap fix) Second put an almighty dent in the bonnet of a recently bought Yaris (insurance claim) Third took off the wing mirror of the courtesy car while Yaris was being fixed (that was embarrasing) I hate pheasants Quote
SootySport Posted May 7, 2012 Posted May 7, 2012 Nice Road Kill fella, Pheasant is nice and tasty, wish I was following you. Quote
