Just found this again and thought I would share it. Some choice comments from commentators Barrie Gill (my former boss at CSS) and Graham Hill, they were great mates.

Enjoy

Great stuff, I'd love to see Ross Brawn race Christian Horner et al in saloon cars pre-F1 race.

Really upsetting.....

BAY 910K would be 40 this year, and worth about £60,000 in concours condition! hindsight ay!  :down:

Somewhere in a box in the loft I have a photo of me next to the Lime Green Escort Mexico I raced a couple of times with Motor Racing Stables in 1973/4 - lovely cars

I was at a Mexico race at Brands around that time, but unfortunately it wasn't that one. I love single marque races like that because it really sorts out the skilled drivers from the chancers. Terrific footage, thanks for that. :t-up:

Have to just love the "it's Jack brabham in the red car and Colin Chapman comming up behind inthe yellow" style comments! Reminds me of watching snooker on a black and white portable when I was a kid.

Great race though, good to see Frank Williams drive and old Spanky Mosley wasn't hanging about either.

Dave, spotted that myself, "for those watching in black and white the pink is behind the green" moment :d :d

Good to see the old escorts flying around, brings back loads of happy memories of Oulton Park and also the rally stages in Clocaenog forest.

I must have spent months in the forests and at the trackside when I were a lad. Mispent youth quite probably.

Mmm, Lombard RAC Rally for the Autumn/Winter that and weekly, or every other week fixes of oil/petrol/tyre smoke from Oulton Park and Donnington Park over the spring and summer, petrol head heaven when I was a lad.

The Lombard felt like it lasted weeks then :d

Fond memories of the Mantas and Escorts plus my all time favourite Lancia 037's in the woods and mountains. Plus later on, the never forgotten off beat five cylinder howl of the Ur Quatros in full flight.

Ah, the miss spent youth ;)

Never really had the Mk1/2 Escort bug, but still have a hankering for a Lancia Montecarlo (Sadly the Manta i400's and even the ordinary GTE's just don't seem to have survived the way Escorts have)

Michelle Mouton in her 400hp quatro, Lancia Stratos, Roger Clark(e) the best Brit of his era. Howling webers at midnight. Feel an ant crawling up my leg and water down me neck, whats happening to me. Pushed Loiuse Aitken Walker off the rough stuff once but that's another story. The real Stig (Blomquist) in the Saabs.

Bob :)
