There's a "Run What You Brung" day this Sunday at SantaPod Raceway. More info at their web site -> http://www.santapod.com

There's 4 of us V8 owners going, and maybe a couple of other Westies from Thames Valley area. Anyone else up for a blast ?

Good value, and now when you say "I can do 0-60 in xx secs" you can show people your drag strip timings to prove it ! :D

Hmmm, tempted, but I'll have to see if I can get a days pass from SWTSMBO....

Would love to come along but unfortunately have prior arrangements.  Maybe next time  :D  :D

If the weathers o.k i'll be there.

You sometimes get a few from the northants area, it's normally a great day out.   :)

We have a new toy to debut at Santa Pod soon, all 70bhp of it :D Expecting 1/4 mile times in the mid 10s :o Can't make this weekend (shakedown at Reading) but we'll come along to the next one.....

Awwww missed it.  Can I bring my Smart car next time, or will it hold everything else up  ???

For those that didn't make it, a great time was had by all. Managed to get a 13.6 on my first run, and got it down to 13.5 in the end. Need some sticky tires I think.

Highlights of the day included VBH  in a Bentley, and beating a WRX300 down the strip  :D   :D

Can't wait until the next one on 1st Sept. See you all there !

Shame I missed it, maybe next time.

Saw Neil last night - believe he got a 14 sec time in his 2.1 pinto

Is there a list of times on the day, any pics?

Was that time on the track, or off-road ? :p

I'll let Neil explain...  :D  :D  :D

Should have the piccies for this Sunday. Any special plans, or is it just meet up at the pub as usual ?

EDIT: Here's my times...the last one is for all you (ex) Scooby owners out there...

What do you mean off road

How can you go off road on a drag strip? :0

Posted
, or will it hold everything else up  ???

You don't need anything holding up from where I'm kooking !

How much power are you running Mr Seight just for research you know. :D

Posted

It's a fairly standard SEiGHT, most other SEiGHTS out there have a lot more power than mine. A rough guess would be 220BHP based on the times from other cars on Ian's web site.

In an effort to cool the engine down after the runs, I tried a new enhanced water cooling method to reduce temps, see below:

LOL Nice day at Santa Pod I see :D

There's another meet there this weekend btw. Not entirely sure what it is, I think it's one of those meets with lots of neon and big stereo's. Anyways, scarily enough, we've been invited along to do some runs, should be a laugh, expect one or our machines to do high 12s and the other to do mid 10s. The latter costing less than 1/10 of the former LOL

Anyone else wandering along this weekend to 'large it up with the massiv'? :)

Graeme.

mmmm, looks like it might be a RWYB if you can convince them you are a Street Car...

Don't think I could handle all that bass though. Then again should be a fair sprinkling of 16 year old girls eager to run their hands over my throbbing....engine...

I'll see you there
