ricdiggle Posted July 19, 2002 Posted July 19, 2002 Just a quicky before I leave for sun and sea, (Said the vicar) Big thanks to all involved in the track day today. Had a fantastic day again. Will see you all there again next year. Nice one. Quote
catflap Posted July 19, 2002 Posted July 19, 2002 How did the blade go mate? Was it quick enough? Would have loved to come Quote
SEiGHT Posted July 19, 2002 Posted July 19, 2002 Couldn't agree more. Great time was head by all (except the guy in the yellow car who took the front of his car out round Devil's Elbow, ouch ! ) What is it with yellow anyway, you would think it was the only colour available. Does it make the car go faster or something ? One tiny suggestion for next time though - get a loud hailer to do the safety talk. That bl**** rubbish truck was making so much noise you couldn't hear a word. I can't wait for the next WSCC track day, this was probably the best £85 I've spent in ages. Once again, well done everyone and a big thankyou to the WSCC. Quote
simoke Posted July 20, 2002 Posted July 20, 2002 We really enjoyed ourselves. Bought my brother-in-law along for a go. Never driven the Westfield before and was unsure if he would enjoy it or not. He enjoyed it !! Really good day, hope the guy who had an incident at Devils Elbow is OK. Roll on next year. Si & Darren Quote
Mark Stanton Posted July 20, 2002 Posted July 20, 2002 And in return a big thank you for everyones support for yet another Mallory WSCC Track Day - see you all in 2003 ? Barry Slingsby came out unscathed from his brush with the armco - hopefully Mrs Slingsby will let him out to play next year There are still a small number of places available for the next WSCC track day at Elvington in August - you can download an entry form from the website Quote
RABoon Posted July 22, 2002 Posted July 22, 2002 An excellent day. My first outing on track in a Westfield and I can wait to get back out there. My only problem was when the skies openned just north of Sheffield on the way home. I am still pumping out the water. Thanks to all involved in the organisation. Quote
Richard Salisbury Posted July 22, 2002 Posted July 22, 2002 Great day! My first time on track with the Westy - can't wait for the next time! Thanks to everyone - particularly the organisers...... see you soon I hope By the way - just for interest, I was concerned about oil surge round Gerards before the event - I have a completely standard 1800 Zetec sump and I was taking the bend about 85mph in third gear - no oil pressure problems at all....... Richard Quote
Blatman Posted July 22, 2002 Posted July 22, 2002 Try taking it fast........ with sticky tyres........ Quote
Dizzy Posted July 22, 2002 Posted July 22, 2002 again to echo Excelent fun Good job done Mark (and everyone else) My only hint for next time is in the talk at the start about passing please state that people who move over to let people past must also lift off the throttle ... a number of times people pulled over but kept on the throttle.. I had no chance of passing in my poor old XFlow Really enjoyed the day although I did have a couple of problems with oil surges (Gerrards and the hairpin ) so may have to look into Dry sump.. however I had more problems with fueling... I had to run on a full tank anything under half and I got a bit of starvation... do they sell swirl pots for westi's anywhere? keep it up Mark Quote
Dogvet Posted July 22, 2002 Posted July 22, 2002 Many thanks to all concerned for a great day. from one of the 2 c******m cars present! Quote
Peter Cox Posted July 22, 2002 Posted July 22, 2002 ditto to all that's been said...best bit was meeting some old faces (as in I've met them before) and putting some new faces to the names I see on here. Of the 4 Grp B sessions I video'd, the best one was the shot looking backwards when I was letting all you guys past and the most entertaining bit was my, albeit frustrated, slip after a lap and a half of having to follow a slower car, "Use your f***** mirrors!" - bright side is that the camera was pointing at me and not the road so no chance of libel there. I'll get the vids posted sometime in the future, hopefully on any day where Joe doesn't wake me up at 0445hrs Oh, Joe's my 14wk old son just in case there's any comeback . Quote
Bananaman Posted July 22, 2002 Posted July 22, 2002 Peter Whats your FOOT doing on the stearing wheel, was this some devistatingly acrobatic driving or are you showing off your new socks? Andy luv to see your vid (just installed broadband at home ) Quote
Bananaman Posted July 22, 2002 Posted July 22, 2002 sorry forgot to say great day thanks to everybody concerned. Andy Quote
Peter Cox Posted July 22, 2002 Posted July 22, 2002 What is it with yellow anyway, you would think it was the only colour available. Does it make the car go faster or something ? ...even the bomber's yellow! Quote

Andy luv to see your vid (just installed broadband at home ) Banana's I can categorically state that I am NOT showing off my new socks. I am showing off my new shoes Remind me to stop assuming that, when I'm lost, other people know where they're going Quote
