Paul Helsby Posted June 22, 2002 Posted June 22, 2002 Yeah, I'm up for it, had this dream that four of us went and our AO broke down on the way and we never got there. Quote
Rich Duddell Posted June 24, 2002 Posted June 24, 2002 Mr Helsby With predictions that accurate, when the Games are finished are you setting up as a clairvoyant? At least you've got something to write about for the newsletter! Rich The 'non igniting' AO Quote
Paul Hurdsfield - Joint Manchester AO Posted June 26, 2002 Author Posted June 26, 2002 Simon here is Richie Duddells story:- Guys I now have the techie reason why my car broke done last week. The Aldon igniter unit in the distributor had burnt out as the mechanic thought. Apparently it was due solely to running the wrong coil according to Aldon. Given that I have electronic ignition you would expect to use a coil rated for electronic ignition - wrong!!! The Aldon igniter kit should use a standard coil (3 ohms resistance) rather than an electronic coil (0.5 ohm resistance). The electronic coil allows the system to draw too much current, run too hot and hence burnout. So now you know! Still hoping to get to Aintree on Saturday, but we shall see. Rich Quote
Rich Duddell Posted June 26, 2002 Posted June 26, 2002 With speedy work from Triple R Tuning in Bury, my car is fixed for Saturdays Sprint at Aintree. Rich Quote

Paul Helsby Posted July 3, 2002 Posted July 3, 2002 Mr Stanton, if I could help I would but unfortunately I can't even get one for my son and Ive been working for the organising committee M2002 for over two years planning the Catering, Cleaning and Waste services across 40 venues. I'm afraid it's the 12 hours a day live tv coverage by our host broadcaster the BBC for you, that's if Hurdsey has finished building that bl**** broadcast centre yet before he b*******s off to Silverstone!! Mark Stanton Posted July 3, 2002 Posted July 3, 2002 Thanks Paul - I've sent you a message - its a real shame that so much corporate hospitality counts for more than the folks that put in all the effort Mark Quote
