I've read up on trackers a little,some of the negatives being they need to have open access to the GPS system ( wouldn't work indoors) and that they need to be connected to a power supply which would cause a long term drain. This type I couldn't honestly say as the battery is rechargeable, not sure of battery life though and mobile phones depend on network coverage. For 99 £ or Euros it may be worth a punt I am not technically knowledgeable enough in this field to be able to offer any sensible comments.

Must be a few communications wizards onboard who could clear up the few issues.
