British Sports Car Day

This event is effectively a side-show for the Shuttleworth collections Summer Air Display.

The date is Sunday July 7th, Gates Open 10AM and flying starts at 2PM.

Does anyone know anything about this event.

Sounds to me like a pretty good day-out, £8.00 for adults (£10.00 on day) a good flying show, Historic flight, Spitfires, Pitts Specials etc. Its also pretty central for Midlands, South, East & West.

I went to this "do" about 5yrs ago and it was well worth the trip and thinking of going again this year. Don't remember there being club stands, everyone just parks at the side of the runway and watches the show. I think it would probably be best to get there really early to get as close to the front as pos and watch the planes from the "comfort" of your own bucket seat!

 There were two or three hundred cars on show so there is plenty to see as well as the flying display and the Shuttleworth Collection too.

 The noise from an unsilenced fighter V12 at close quarters is shuddering and the fragility of pre war bi-planes frightening! Need to get your entry form off to them for next Wednesday..26th June if you are going..click on C.E.'s link above to print off a form.

 Let us know if any of you are going and we could arrange to meet outside the show first so as to park together maybe?

Don't get too near to the front or your car might get hit by one of the planes - Yes Really!!! The last time I went there a Mozzy got the wind up its tail as it was taxying and went straight into a car, prop splinters flying everywhere. You certainly het close to the action!
