Steve Robinson Posted June 15, 2002 Posted June 15, 2002 Mark Stanton rang me a little while ago to tell me that Allen Parkinson was killed in a motoring accident at Le Mans last night. His son Nic was in Le Mans with him but not involved in the accident. There is no further information but we thought you would all want to know of this tragic news. We will get any further information to you as soon as we hear. All our thoughts are with Nic and the rest of Allen’s family at this sad time. Quote
Ian Podmore Posted June 16, 2002 Posted June 16, 2002 I too have just heard the tragic and shocking news. Allen was killed whilst overtaking another vehicle in his Westfield near to Le Mans. He died instantly at the scene. He had a French passenger with him, the fate of who I do not know. My fathers and my thoughts are with Allen's family. Quote
Mark Stanton Posted June 16, 2002 Posted June 16, 2002 We understand the passenger is in a coma - but awaiting full confirmation Quote
scott beeland Posted June 16, 2002 Posted June 16, 2002 Don't think I ever met allen but I wish to extend my sympathies to all concerned. Quote
Fat Arnie Posted June 19, 2002 Posted June 19, 2002 A "representative" of the WSCC was with us at the LM24 when this tragic news broke. On behalf of the Lotus Seven Club I'd just like to offer our thoughts and sympathy to Allen’s family and friends at this tragic time. Quote
Kevin Wood Posted June 22, 2002 Posted June 22, 2002 Allen and Nic were staying at the same camp site as we were and we had met them for the first time earlier that day whilst wandering round the camp site. All at Chanteloup were shocked when news broke of this tragedy later that evening. Our thoughts are with Nic and the family. Quote
