Cleggy the Spyder Man Posted March 26, 2012 Posted March 26, 2012 just about to order some silicon water hose in 16mm and 32mm bore size I see on eBay that ap motorstore have lots of list and seem to be really cheep any thoughts on their stuff? Quote
KugaWestie Posted March 26, 2012 Posted March 26, 2012 I used some of their stuff - seems ok to me - but not given it any prolonged use yet Quote
matt nossiter Posted March 26, 2012 Posted March 26, 2012 I've mixed and matched AP and Samco and it doesn't seem any different . AP have all their stuff in stock where as when I ordered my Samco stuff from a retailer what ever they didnt have would of been a 4 week wait Quote
carbon-nv Posted March 26, 2012 Posted March 26, 2012 Hi Cleggy I had quite a few bits of them last year and quality seems good for the price. They were also very good when I had to return a piece for exchange and fast turnaround. Might be worth just getting the odd bit to start with, then decide if you're happy with them? Quote
GreigM Posted March 26, 2012 Posted March 26, 2012 Check their feedback!!! I've had problems, they've screwed me out of £70 and just ignore you if there are any issues.....I'd avoid. Quote
langy Posted March 27, 2012 Posted March 27, 2012 I'm awaiting a delivery of hoses from Viper Performance, had a chat with them at Race Retro and they will make up specials without too much bother. Did order some Jubillee clips from AP Motorstore (via eBay) delivered the next day. Think I might have a 15% discount code for them, I won't be posting it on a public forum though.............. Quote

I had a 90 degree elbow bend delivered in the wrong size - no problem, one phone call and a correct one sent out, with them then trusting me to return the incorrect one to them - they provided a SAE to put it in and send back to them Quote
Cleggy the Spyder Man Posted March 27, 2012 Author Posted March 27, 2012 ok guys thanks for the input any thoughts on the quality of their hose - the car does spends quite a bit of time on track during track days and I don't want hoses blowing If you have their stuff on your car and it gets used for similar purpose please post up Quote
mitch46 Posted March 27, 2012 Posted March 27, 2012 look at roose motorsport hose's i bought some last year and every bit as good as samco/sfs plus they have a lifetime guarantee, i bought some from ap for none critical hoses, like breathers etc there ok but not top quality Quote

SootySport Posted March 27, 2012 Posted March 27, 2012 I would have though they are all the same, made in the same factory but with different logos on them. Quote
carbon-nv Posted March 27, 2012 Posted March 27, 2012 Not certain on that one. I also have a few bits of highbury hose on the car and that does feel a little more durable and flexible. Quote
Dave Eastwood (Gadgetman) - Club Chairman Posted March 27, 2012 Posted March 27, 2012 Wellllll, maybe the raw materials are quite commonly available? I'm sure some of the real cheap stuff may, as you say, be mass made of Chinese origin. But n the whole, you'd be surprised at just how much of a low/medium volume hand made type of a product it is. Quote
SootySport Posted March 27, 2012 Posted March 27, 2012 Not sure about hand made hoses, you wouldn't be able to afford to buy them. I think hand made these days means taking the hoses out of a machine and packing in a box, by hand. Morgans, now they are hand made. Quote
langy Posted March 28, 2012 Posted March 28, 2012 cleggy, how much do you need, might have over ordered on 32mm ID Quote
